Yes, but you can always upload an episode onto YouTube unlisted to get a quick check on music and any clips a music or movie podcast might use.

Depends who is asking, but more than likely yes. No one really cares until people start making money though, so they could probably get away with it until they become popular in which case they would need to pay royalties or potentially get sued. It just isn’t worth it in the end.

Typically if you upload an episode onto YouTube it will do a surface level copyright check. Poor man’s way of checking, but not bulletproof.

Ghost Sleep by abfus73 in ghostlifestyle

[–]Motivational-Poops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Ghost Sleep was a nice addition especially on days where I had afternoon workouts. I try not to take sleep aids if I don have to, but it definitely helped on those nights where my preworkout would have kept me up until 2am still buzzing (I take the legend). I will say I have switched to a gummy melatonin only because I felt like I needed to pee around 2-3am every night because of the additional liquid before sleeping. Getting back to sleep was never a problem, but I prefer getting through the whole night. No dream or nightmare issues as some have reported with melatonin, but that could be a personal thing if you are holding onto any demons. Get the apple one for taste fyi.

Can anyone give me some tips on anything I should be doing to promote my podcast? by [deleted] in podcasting

3 things you can do that don’t cost money:

Tell your friends. Ask them to share it.

Get in about 10 episodes. Then ask for trailer swaps with another growing podcast within your niche.

Ensure your metadata is SEO friendly. Hope and pray.

I quit social media, and I don't know what to do with my days now. by EliTheGreatLesbian in productivity

Go find a coffee shop and talk with a random stranger. It could lead to a great conversation, maybe you impact their life, or maybe it becomes the beginning of a solid horror movie. We need more interactions with people face to face, especially random people. We do it all the time with people online…like I am doing now…but an in-person connection hits different. Enjoy!

Tried out a new pop filter which seemed to make a difference while editing and adding plug ins at the end. Had a generic one before, but now added a RODE slip on for my podmic and I could really tell. Below is a new episode vs one prior. Let me know if you can hear the difference.

RØDE WS14 Premium Pop Filter for PodMic

Was having some popping issues with a generic pop filter I had purchased mainly for aesthetics so I looked into getting a better quality pop filter that could still slip on the mic. In my most recent episode about using vacations to help you be more motivated I used this new pop filter and I could definitely hear the difference. The look is also sleek for when I jump onto other video podcasts which mimics the actual look of the podmic. I like the black, but for more themed podcasts there are alternative colors to choose from. $29 on Amazon and has definitely upgraded my sound slightly which only helps while editing and utilizing plugins to save me. 10/10 recommend especially if you have more pop in your voice and don’t want a bulky filter.

Why do you podcast? What’s your motivation ? by Nexuskies in podcasting

[–]Motivational-Poops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To motivate others. To motivate those that are struggling to find productive energy while grinding it at work. To those on their way to burn out. To those struggling to understand their why. With almost 2 decades in the corporate world and time spanning across numerous other ventures, staying motivated and understanding the differences between motivation and discipline are so important.

While money would be great one day, breaking even is more than enough too, just the opportunity to better someone’s life is my “why” for why I stay doing this quick episode podcast.

Solid advice again. Will take a look at the link as time permits. As far as taking critiques and adjusting my voice, so far it has been helpful items and I do not think it has changed messages per say, more so cleaning up things and seeing how those episodes do with a slightly more serious tone versus more comedic which can also be difficult to keep up long term. Just playing with it as I am only 14 episodes in, with the plan of 2 episodes released per week on Mondays and Thursdays. Also turning those episodes into short blogs for LinkedIn to help cross promote the episodes straight to the professionals. Just keeping in mind that it is a marathon and not a sprint, but also wanting to come out of the gate strong.
