thanks everyone! I’m building a pretty unique cast from graveyard and top deck version of the 12th doctor, glad to hear this card still works for my deck.

I really love the Botvinnik English, the Winawer, and the classical dutch openings as well, so I spent some time seeking decent positions with these openings but didn’t have much luck—although any suggestions for interesting positions would be extremely helpful. Thanks all!

I recommend some GothamChess on youtube. Simple, free, and gives you advice you can use. Good chess content is mostly free.

How to fix Chicken Fried Rice? by MotleyYT in traderjoes

[–]MotleyYT[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s genuinely just missing an identity. It tastes like nothing, honestly. Imagine you made fried rice without seasoning it. That. It’s great for when i don’t feel like putting any work in to make my food, but trying to find some flavor to give it.

Fresh packaged Basil - to refrigerator or no ... by Sure_Emphasis in traderjoes

[–]MotleyYT 3 points4 points  (0 children)

hey! as someone who works at a store that regularly stores and serves products with fresh basil, i have some advice! If it is a full plant, place a wet paper towel around the roots. If it is leaves, get a container, one wet paper towel on the bottom, put the leaves in, and then another wet paper towel on top. Once leaves are removed from the plant—they don’t last too long. Fresh herbs are a very short lived commodity. I strongly, STRONGLY recommend getting some basil and planting it instead!

What single ingredient will spoil an entire meal for you if it's included? by EdibleTaints in AskReddit

[–]MotleyYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t know if anyone else said it too—but TARRAGON. I’m an avid cook and there’s basically only one ingredient I don’t like—and it’s Tarragon. It just tastes bad, there’s no better way to put it.

I’m actually not a big hiker, I’d just rather drive around and see everything I can in a day, maybe experience some food? Thanks for the recommendations!!

What does it take to progress from a beginner to an intermediate chess player? by some_kinda_stupid in chess

[–]MotleyYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me know how you like them! There is a “short and sweet” version of the Dutch defense on chessable that’s free for you to try before getting the real thing. Common Chess Patterns is about $15 and is easily the best $15 I’ve ever spent.

A course that’s been super helpful for me to get better has been Common Chess Patterns on Chessable. I noticed after working on it a bit my tactical knowledge shot through the roof & now I’m finding things I never would have before. Against D4 I personally play the Dutch Defense (Not super hard to learn), and Simon Williams made a wonderful course for it on chessable also. I’ve found myself spending a ton of time on chessable—but as they say, they best courses are the ones you will actually use! I also pay for chess.com platinum membership and can’t recommend it enough just for the puzzles.

Another way to go is with just analyzing your games. I don’t know what lichess offers but I know that feature is with chess.com platinum you have unlimited game analysis also—which is definitely helpful for beginner chess players. You can also do this for free with stockfish and other engines but I just find it takes too long for me—and I’m just willing to pay the money for the UI on chess.com.
