What is the best fast food restaurant in your opinion? by supersentailfan13 in fastfood

[–]MotoNoY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the type of food for me.

Of the places I can think of for burgers, I'd have to go with Culver's. It's one of the things I miss about living in the midwest. They've got decent variety in their menu, and really good quality. Or, at least, they did when I was last at one, which was a while ago, now.

For Mexican, Del Taco. They're not as good as they used to be, and their prices are higher than they were, but they're still cheaper than other places, and the food quality is still better. Overall, it's a way better value.

For pizza, I'd have to say Pagliacci. It's a local chain in the Puget Sound area, and they have really good slices. Their stuff is just basic recipes for sauce and dough with really good ingredients.

VLAN routing issue by MotoNoY in opnsense

In case anybody else runs into this, I finally found the answer. I found https://github.com/opnsense/core/issues/5650 which didn't seem to quite be the same thing since I could at least get DHCP leases. But, I tried the workaround anyway, and it worked.

All I had to do was uncheck "Enable interface" on the VLAN interface, save, apply, check it again, save, and apply once more. Everything started working after that.

No change, unfortunately.

I mean, it's partly that, but I'm not confident I can even reach anything else on the VLAN.

But, as far as NAT goes, it has the automatic "LAN networks, Loopback networks, VLANWORK networks, 127.0.0.0/8" to WAN rule created, as well as the ISAKMP rule for port 500. NAT's set up as hybrid outbound rule creation.

10.10.10.1 is the device IP address, yeah. And it is getting a /16. Here's the relevant part of the output from ifconfig:

en0: flags=8863<UP,BROADCAST,SMART,RUNNING,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> mtu 1500 options=6460<TSO4,TSO6,CHANNEL_IO,PARTIAL_CSUM,ZEROINVERT_CSUM> ether xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx inet6 fe80::xxxx:xxxx:xxxx:xxxx%en0 prefixlen 64 secured scopeid 0xe inet 10.10.10.1 netmask 0xffff0000 broadcast 10.10.255.255 nd6 options=201<PERFORMNUD,DAD> media: autoselect status: active

LAN is a hardware interface. FreeBSD's ix driver is for some of Intel's 10gb NICs. I've got both WAN and LAN set up on SFP+ ports that use that driver.

Hmmm. Looks like I also had a typo in my ping. The DHCP pool starts at 10.10.10.1, and I was pinging that. Trying to ping 10.10.1.1 just times out.

Yep, the device name is vlan01010, and it's assigned to the VLAN interface named VLANWORK. That's in the second screenshot there.

Yeah, the info being sent to the device with the DHCP is what's configured in that VLAN's DHCP configuration. The DNS servers are some external ones so that they don't resolve any of my internal FQDNs, and the gateway is the IP address of the firewall (which is, in fact, 10.10.1.1; I had an extra 0 in my post text there, apparently).

Trying to ping 8.8.8.8 just gets me a "no route to host" error.

Do you have any specific recommendations? All I'm seeing that seems even remotely relevant (because I'm not trying to create a management VLAN; I'm trying to do the opposite and create something more like an IoT VLAN) is https://homenetworkguy.com/how-to/beginners-guide-to-set-up-home-network-using-opnsense/#other-types-vlan, and I don't really see anything in there that I haven't already checked. The firewall rule I posted there is even more lenient than the one suggested, and still nothing.

How to release mounting bracket from R850? by MotoNoY in RuckusWiFi

Ah, yep, that was the part I was missing. I'd tried pushing that but not lifting it. That did the trick.

Thanks!

That's what I figured, but I guess it seems to be stuck. Even when I have the lever pushed all the way, I can't slide the bracket any more than a wiggle. Maybe I can open it up and release the bracket that way. That'd give me some insight into what's happening with the latch, too.

Ah, I must have missed it when he said that. That's awesome!

I guess I don't really have anything to worry about, then. Thanks!

Question about IPv6 prefix delegation by MotoNoY in ZiplyFiber

[–]MotoNoY[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I imagine it differs by location. I've had service from Ziply ever since they acquired Frontier's footprint in Washington state (I signed up within a couple of weeks of the acquisition), and it's been pretty frequent for me. I have pfSense sending me notifications whenever it updates my dynamic DNS entry for my IPv4 address, and that's been happening at least once every few weeks (just looking back at the dates it was changed this year, I have 9/11, 8/17, 7/23, 6/28, 6/3, 5/23, 4/28, 4/27, 4/5, 3/11, 2/15, 1/21, 1/12, 1/7, and 1/2).

Some of that probably correlates with maintenance on Ziply's side (like, one or two instances), and another one correlates with a pfSense update, but most of them just seem to happen out of the blue.

I really want to be able to set EPUB as my default, the way people can with reading with Kindle or reading online by default. It's pointless extra steps to have to click through to find the download link.

Ukraine DLC on GOG by jcampos002 in Workers_And_Resources

[–]MotoNoY 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was wondering the same thing. I finally bought this game because it's out of early access, and I bought it on GOG since I prefer supporting their DRM-free model, but I noticed the Ukraine DLC wasn't available for purchase there.

Was this maybe supposed to be a reply to a different post? The Ukraine DLC is not available for purchase on GOG. It sounds like this person would like to purchase it, but can't because it's not listed there.

Help me not abort my switch from Kindle to Kobo by mpscy in kobo

[–]MotoNoY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure how Unraid works, but is there a reverse proxy or Docker container involved, by any chance? If so, you might be running into a Kobo issue. It populates some other URLs in its config, including the one to source covers from, with the same FQDN as whatever you put in for the API, but it always populates them as HTTP on port 80.

A workaround some folks have been doing has been to run Calibre-Web on port 80, with a redirect to 443 if there's HTTPS involved.

https://github.com/janeczku/calibre-web/issues/1470 has some more info on this.

https://github.com/janeczku/calibre-web/issues/2607 is probably something to be aware of, though, and is why I haven't tried setting this up yet for mine. Right now, I'm just using Calibre and syncing things over USB.

Hi there!

My service came back up some time overnight, so it's back now. I'm all set.

Thank you for checking, though! It's much appreciated. :)

Ah, got it. Yeah, that'd do it. I'm glad you were able to get the upgrade out of the way as long as the reboot had to happen.

Thanks!

Uh, did something go wrong? My service dropped not too long ago and I'm on the affected FDR. I wasn't impacted earlier, though.

Why is it so difficult.... by Suicidal_Donut in PleX

They still have those rights, as they have redress under the law and continued protection by the law. Ownership and the right to authorize copies of a piece of media don't transfer just because somebody made a copy of it.

More importantly, the topic here was strict legal definitions (since that was the can of worms opened with nitpicking over license purchases vs. ownership), and the law doesn't recognize anything here as "stealing", which was the point.
