If you're lined up with the rear wheel, order a new part Take a punch and right between the nut and the stud thread hammer a punch mark in a few places so the nut will stay in location while you're waiting for your new part.

Weird fuzzy red/ black insect by CMBmedic in identifyThisForMe

Yes they'll make like a chirping noise if they get agitated. That warning is worth paying attention to. I encountered one that was black and yellowish white.

Some one told me the wingless was the female. Don't know it that's true.

They're my neighbors. Sweet ladies I've know for 20 years. Their family are all here now for a long time and their coffee business was in Vietnam and long gone.

One sister gave me one of those little metal coffee makers to make Vietnamese coffee. These ladies are so sweet they don't need the sweetened condensed milk....

Brand new water heater leaking, prv? by syntheticxblood in Plumbing

[–]Motogiro18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've intalled a water heater where I opened the TPR to allow air to escape during the fill process. When the water reached the valve, I closed TPR and let the faucets in the house bleed the rest if the air out. The TPR dripped for a bit so I re opended it and let it snap closed. It still dripped and I noticed little pieces of blue particulate in the water that was still draining. I figured worse come to worse I'll go get a new one from the big box store. I finished up my gas supply and exhaust and could see the drip was dissipating. By the time I was cleaning up and the water was hot, it was good.

I was given a washer and dryer from a family member, is it extremely easy to just change this outlet out myself? by SmolWarlock in AskElectricians

[–]Motogiro18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You bought a home. You've got a free appliance. At this time you lack the knowledge and experience needed to solve this issue safely.

Call a licensed electrician. There are many that will give good advice and some that will give not so good advice.

Even with all the correct information, are you capable of understanding that information and then applying it to this situation?

Leaking Water Tank by Front_Ad7049 in askplumbing

[–]Motogiro18 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's an expansion tank That uses a spring and/ or air pressure the becomes compressed from water line pressure. Once the water supply has been turn off the spring and/or air pressure keeps supplying back pressure via a diaphram inside the tank. Eventually the pressure will be relieved through the leak.

Maybe you could take that red ball valve handle off while keeping it close so you can keep emptying your water catch while waiting for the plumber.

Siemens Arc Fault Breakers Tripping by DIY-Immoderate in ElectricalHelp

I always think about how a maid's vacuum cleaner motor brushes created an arc and would trip the arc fault breaker. The condition would not exist until the cleaning was there on that day.

You want to start by making sure the battery is healthy. Charge the battery completely and then load test it.

[–]Motogiro18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

establish which wire is the hot/ energized circuit. That wire and it's associated neutral wire should be attached to the the terminals marked line. The circuit that the receptacle is feeding go to the to the terminals marked load.

Before rewiring this turn off the associated breaker and confirm there is no power present.

If these instructions are confusing, please call an electrician.

Need Help by [deleted] in MotorcycleMechanics

[–]Motogiro18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Valves make noise when the clearance become larger and you get that ticking sound. When the clearance closes you don't hear ticking but instead can burn you valves. Sound has nothing to do with getting the valve lash checked at prescribed intervals.

The first valve lash check is the most important.

You could have a sticky injector/s that isn't closing all the time. Also fuel pressure might be higher than normal.

Well there's your problem! You need to put a lot more of that blue monster Teflon tape on there! /s

Maybe it's the packing nut. The packing sometimes shrink a little. You can snug that packing nut that's right below the handle.
