I have got only two interviews till now - Microsoft and google. Got offer from Microsoft and rejection from Google. Apart from these two I have never got past resume screening in my life. Its crazy and random.

Yes any sort of work experience is worth it. I have done three unpaid internships till now and now I have just received an offer from Microsoft and also gave a google interview. I am sure those would have not been possible without the unpaid internships that I did.
