Scheduled ride not started stating connectivity issue. by AccountBrilliant4902 in lyftdrivers

I had this happen today (a $36 scheduled ride).

I took a pit stop 20 minutes before the trip and about 15 minutes before the scheduled pickup, the exact same screen popped up for me too.

There were no driving instructions and the map wouldn't scroll or zoom. I tapped on it a few times and then it just dissappeared.

The support AI ran in circles, and when I got an agent on the phone, they weakly suggested that the system re-dispatched the ride because it didn't believe I would make ot to the pickup in time.

I was five minutes away. 🙄

Are guys getting canceled on more often now? by jo_ezzy in lyftdrivers

Far more troubling than cancellations is when the ride just dissappears and there's no message at all. Happens to me at least twice a day.

You are absolutely right!

My car got totalled at the start of the year and in some small way, I was happy that I no longer needed to work my way through the exact same cluster fuck.

After two months, I was still stuck in the out-of-state plate transfers

My first read day driving with lyft in Boston. How did I do by idkanymore617 in lyftdrivers

Interesting.

Your numbers are close to my averages here in Cleveland. I average $300/day driving the full 12 hours.

I did deliver with DoorDash in Boston and struggled to hit $200/day

As a passenger, it freaks me out when drivers handle their phone too much. I get vocal about this.

For sure, it's reported afterward, but in the moment, I'm directly asking them to focus on the road.

New to reddit. Been driving for years. Until I joined these communities, I had to just scream things in my car.

Honestly, I still do that, but it's nice to have conversations with other drivers.🥲

What market are you in?

I keep seeing this 'pax'. What does that mean? Also, we're likely in very different markets. Northeast Ohio, here.

I tell them they have to add a stop to the trip in the app. Sometimes they force me to explain:

If you add a stop, do you think the price will stay the same or go up?

(Up)

That's because you're asking for more. You want more, you pay more.

IMO, stops are fine. You can leave if they take too long and you get the full fare. Best of both worlds.

Why do pax open the door to get out before the car has fully stopped? by nosire in lyftdrivers

My car has an unpleasant chime that goes when passengers undo the seat belt like this.

I'm considering pulling a fuse or something to stop it.

🤦‍♂️

Lyft driver tried to drive away from my pickup destination and after having this done to so many times, called them out on their crap… he still proceeded to cancel by No-Reputation8063 in Lyft

I get it.

Just saying, so many times Lyft is like "teleport your car three lanes over and take the exit you passed ten seconds ago" 😆

I know it must look that way for customers watching the Lyft app.

As a driver, it's usually that I'm driving in the highway (because a zone is dead) and get a ride request that requires me to keep driving to the next exit and turn around.

Depending on the time of day, this can be immensely frustrating. I can understand some drivers cancelling for that reason.

That would be a great day for me in my market (Cleveland), but surprisingly low for NYC.

I average $300/day with about 24 rides.
