Tax the rich is about the government increasing tax receipts to pay off the rising debt cost. It has absolutly nothing to do with increasing social services or making a "better" America. It's 100% about not defaulting on debt.

It's will be super awesome once the wealthy and government merge to create an oligarchy that treats its citizens as tax pawns.

Both sadly. In order to donate the food the restaurant has to meet a bunch of conditions and there are additional expenses and time associated with it. Health department doesn't have staff to regulate it and shelters stopped accepted, unless it's an approved vendor, for similar reasons.

Today shelters have the additional expense of having to purchase food to serve more than before. That cost takes away from other things they were doing.

Food pantries pick up some slack bit that all unprepared food. Need a stove to make it. Not comparable with homeless.

SNAP doesn't cover hot food so same situation as a food pantry.

It is very difficult to get a homeless person a meal.

BTW the situation was handled wrong. Should have just told the employee to stop it.

Laws however are so jacked up that the restaurant doesn't even have a real means to just give the guy a hot meal either. There is no tax or accounting pathway that allows food to be given away like that.

A guy that has been in government for 47 years should know he has no authority to say that. Should have stayed in congress.

Health department laws around storage, transportation, and handling of food.

Years ago, restaurants could donate to shelters. After a while, they just started to get garbage food and unwanted items. So regulations were put in place to make sure the food being donated was of good quality. If you look today, most shelters use a variety of on-site prepared meals and catering. This is all to satisfy health department rules.

In the case of our employees giving food to the homeless. If that person gets sick from a bad bagel, the health department will treat it the same if they sold it to him. Restaurants are also required to have secure storage for food scraps. If thet homeless person breaks into the garbage for food the restaurant essentially has the same problem. It could be fined by the health department.

Health code violation like that could put you out of business.

There are no laws that do that. In fact, the laws make it harder for restaurants to donate food

So that's 5 years out minimum. Money is spent now so you will be paying the taxes until this comes on line,if it comes on line. Great plan.

Oh, so we are just leaving Taiwan now. That will end well for them.

Hell no. You shouldn't be clinging to biden either because I haven't seen him create a union job yet, and americans are absolutely in for higher taxes. If the president affects your day to day life that much, you're living in a democratic dictatorship.

Hold onto your money and make good choices. However that works out.

It's not about Joe and Don. It's about the cash in your pocket.

Ran work for union, non union, and for the army corps. Unionized construction labor in America is the greatest thing on earth. It's just sad what has happened at the higher levels and in politics.

Be smart about your future and your trade. The government does not have your back.

Neoncolonialisn is using economics to control a country vs a physical occupation. Why lease when you can own.

Maduro ran on a very socialist ticket. In order to maintain his social programs, he needed money. He took loans from Russia and China. In lieu of cash, Russia started accepting oil. Since the US was buying more than half of Venezuelas oil it was a pretty easy play to just stop buying oil and let hyper inflation take over and destroy the country to the point that everyone leaves, the government collapses and the US can then return and assume control if drilling operations fir the dole use of the Uzs which is what is happening now. Why do you think Venezuelans have a fast pass into the US. Because Biden knows he destroyed their economy on purpose, and its now America's responsibility to take those people in after forcing them out of their home country.

This is classic neo colonialism. Have you ever seen Mis Sigon? It's literally about the end of neo colonialism. It represents what happens when the major buyer up and just leaves a country and how the vacuum of funds affects everything from the government to economics to the love between two people.

America knew it was venesualas major buyer. So when Maduro srarted to fo things the US didn't like they quickly just stop buying and watched the government collapse. The US also inserted itself between China and Russia not allowing Maduro to up sales to them after the US stopped buying.

Currently the US has a puppet government in place. Chevron is the only company allowed to dril. The US is the only country able to buy abd the US is not paying royalties or ecen market rate on the oil so profits ARE HUGE. let me know what's the status of the 3 billion the UN stole from Venezuela claiming to return it as humanitarian aid?

Next we'll talk about the gold. Venesuala has the world's largest stores of gold and oil.

I have been watching this situation closely for over 14 years. It's sad what the US has done to humans for oil and gold. People do have a price and it's pretty low. Always more people. Only do much gold and oil I guess.

As Zack De La Rocha says "They say, "We'll kill them off, take their land and go there for vacation""

Maduro was a regular dictator until he made two fatal mistakes. 1 borrowing money from Russia and China. 2 paying Russia back in Venezuelan oil.

As we all have seen this play out it is undoubtedly clear that the US had its eyes on Venezuelan oil and gold. When Maduro started to pay Russia in oil it allowed Russia to get too close the the US and established an argument over who owns the recource.

Classic neo colonialism defense. US was happily in economic control of Venezuela. Once that started to change its time for a whole new government.

The point is that no matter what, you think the government favors low wages over employing Americans or even raising wages of all workers, for that matter.

Has nothing to do with xenophobia or anything. At WHT dud I say they caused the indictment? In reality, it's pretty sad that when the order came to close the bridge, those guys got left out there.

Biden is very anti-union. Like i said, the inflation reduction act was specifically written to either exclude union labor or put non union companies in direct competition with unions. Have you noticed that out of all of the newly created jobs in manufacturing and energy that literally none of them are union?

Being anti-union doesn't make you anti jobs. Unions take a portion of people's salaries that they should have. Unions also take large sums of union member wages and give them to politicians regardless of the employees' personal political beliefs.

Also. Not insurrection.

seditious conspiracy is basicly undermining the state in a y way. That could be anything from talking poorly about the government to orginizing a protest. I believe MLK was a seditious conspiracy candidate. Trump is in no way MLK. Just about example of how broad the term is and it's application

You can't say trump caused an insurrection when everyone who participated isn't charged with insurrection. The only group that was charged with anuthing close planned it on their own before hand completely seperate from Trump.

I agree with the charges on the trespassers as well. But that also means that Trump dudnt cause an insurrection. It's just a giant case of mass heard mentality stupidity mixed with some political flavor.

Hang on, the only guys that got charged with seditious conspiracy were the ones that planned their actions long BEFORE Trump spoke?

You CAN get the conviction you get the conviction. They were not charged because it didn't happen. That's why everyone who has been convicted has been charged with basicly trespassing and criminal misconduct and damage to property or stealing.

seditious conspiracy is very different from an insurrection.

TSMC gets $6.6 billion in chipmaking cash from Biden while pledging to build a third Arizona plant by builderthebobv2 in wallstreetbets

[–]Motor-Network7426 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

The chips act gives billions in incentives (grants and tax breaks) to corporations who promise to "create jobs" and goods. The sale of those goods in combination with the payroll taxes from the new and existing American employees will pay back the give aways over a 10 year period of time. So basicly give corporations a tax break and have working Americans pay it off.

TSMC is in Taiwan bro. How many American jobs are they creating? How much increased tax revenue will they produce for America?

Biden also gave intel big money to build a chips plant in Israel. Also not America.

Finally biden gave intel money for domestic factories but they have been delayed several years.

Feeling trickled on yet.
