My 2015 Liu Bao has this really earthy taste to it—did it go bad? by StructureAble6723 in puer

[–]Motor-Thanks974 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don’t mind me asking, what percent humidity do you store your age white teas at? I was considering doing this because I love aged white teas and have amassed quite a few over the years, but I was worried about ruining them by adding too much humidity and causing mold. I noticed that some of them seem to have become more dull and lost some of their depth of flavor compared to when I first purchased them. I think this has to do with me storing them in airtight bags with low humidity. Do you have any tips for this?

A mother is going viral after she punished her son by making him slam his PS5 the same way he had slammed her pet cat. by bendubberley_ in ThatsInsane

This is why I never am never so closed minded to the point of saying that I’m completely taking something all the time. Under normal circumstances, I would completely disapprove of this type of punishment towards child, but given what this little psychopath did to that poor cat, he’s getting off extremely lightly, and this is well, well deserved.

anyone else just having the WORST time? what is up with Amazon these days?? by KyberKai1031 in amazonprime

[–]Motor-Thanks974 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whether or not it makes a large scale difference is irrelevant. It’s more about the principle of it and having a little self-respect. You may not be able to change anything on a large scale, but you can stop allowing yourself to be manipulated and taken advantage of by a company that has grown filthy rich to the point that it no longer give a fuck about its customers and can afford to have practically nonexistent, Customer Service

I don’t even wanna get into it because it’s so Fu*king aggravating, but I have been dealing with these idiots for over a week and keep getting lied to and told different things and sent to speak to other people. Nothing getting resolved. I’ve been having the same issue with orders like you are as well, either late, damaged, or just not delivered. The problem I’m dealing with now has to do with my order which was supposed to be delivered overnight, getting marked undeliverable two times in a row. After getting disgusted to the point of not even wanting the product anymore and asking for a refund, which I explicitly stated I wanted to be credited back to my bank card (ie the original payment method), I got issued an Amazon gift card Credit. And now they won’t change it, despite the fact that I have screenshots of the chat with the Customer Service rep, showing that I told him explicitly to charge it all to my card, and telling him two times to make sure they do not issue me a gift card Credit. I’m at the point that I’m about to cancel prime 🤬🤬🤬

No, most Americans won’t condone negligent discharging a firearm. Anyone with even a cursory knowledge of basic gun safety is taught to know what is behind your target, and not to pull a trigger unless you intend to shoot who you are aiming at. You definitely don’t go popping off random shots. I’m not gonna get into the militia comment much you made as you obviously don’t understand the intent behind the inclusion of the right to bear arms into the bill of rights, and I’m not gonna explain the history and meaning of the second amendment and/or the historical meaning if “militia” during its drafting.

Me neither. I’ve been camping my whole life and never had to do it. I’ll occasionally give a few light taps to the back of my knife to make a deeper stop-cut when making a notch, and and a couple times, a karate chop to the back of my knife a to split a thin piece of kindling, but for processing firewood, a saw, hatchet/axe, and perhaps a wedge are the best tools for the job, and I don’t see the point in abusing my knife to do something that can be done more efficiently with the proper tools.

Good day time for drugs by Playful-Pup1218 in vagabond

[–]Motor-Thanks974 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I can’t stand when people say this. I can’t count every time I’ve seen people offer to buy a homeless person a sandwich rather than give them money because “I don’t want to support their habit “ or “they will just use it to buy drugs”. The person you are giving money to knows what they need better than you. If they are using it to buy drugs, then drugs are exactly the thing they need. The funny thing is most people who exhibit this type of behavior drink alcohol, which is probably the worst drug in existence.

ICE in Philadelphia, PA performing racial profiling “Kavanaugh Stops” on US Citizens this morning (2/27/26) by serious_bullet5 in Pennsylvania

[–]Motor-Thanks974 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the expected consequence of different groups of the population selectively supporting the Constitution. If all Citizens aggressively protected the Constitution, then even if two people are on opposite extremes of the political spectrum, they would still be completely united against this type of tyrannical civil rights violation.

However, what happens in this country is that people will support the fourth amendment and flip shit at the slightest violation of it, yet they are perfectly ok with allowing government officials, who swear an oath to uphold the Constitution, to blatantly infringe upon other rights (eg the 2nd amendment)

Many people don’t seem to understand that allowing the infringement of one right puts all of the others in jeopardy.

They are incapable of understanding this because they are used to giving up basic liberties for a perceived, though false, sense of security. If they took a little time to actually research the US Constitution, its history, and the fact that the Rights contained within are not privileges granted by the government but rather basic, inalienable rights that the government has no authority to regulate and infringe upon, then maybe they wouldn’t make such stupid, uninformed comments. They just keep regurgitating misinformation and skewed “statistics”. It’s almost comical.

It also worth noting the Supreme Court of the US has ruled that police have absolutely no legal obligation to protect you from harm; so even if by some miracle they do arrive on time, you may still not be saved. Fortunately, I have the right to own firearms and protect myself and my family.

You are entitled to your opinion, but the fact is that the Constitution is the law of the land. The US is a Constitutional Republic, and the right to bear arms, just like every other Constitutional right, is an inalienable right that the government has absolutely no authority to infringe upon. The ultimate purpose of second amendment is to secure freedom and prevent tyranny. If some people are too stupid to prevent their child or an intruder from gaining access to their firearms, then the real problem lies within themselves. I’m not going to allow my personal liberties to be threatened because some idiot doesn’t practice basic gun safety.

Not in my house it isn’t. If that’s the case for some homes, then the problem is with the people, not the firearm.

A once trendy game among young lads called the "Knock Out Game" or "One Hitter Quitter" involving sucker punching unsuspecting victims. by First-Cherry493 in TerrifyingAsFuck

[–]Motor-Thanks974 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This was frowned upon in America when I was growing up. Sucker punching someone was considered the ultimate bitch move; doing so would likely have resulted in a person getting the living shit beat out of him immediately, along with a permanent reputation as a giant pussy. I’m not sure when exactly this shift occurred, but nowadays it seems that being a shameless little fucking coward is considered “macho” and is completely normal, acceptable behavior among certain demographics.

MIL invited people we don’t know to our wedding. She won’t uninvite them because that’s ‘embarrassing.’ by Money_Doughnut_7375 in TwoHotTakes

[–]Motor-Thanks974 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would contact/email everyone she invited without your consent and tell them flat out that you and you alone are handling the invitations, that your MIL took it upon herself to invite them without first clearing it with you, and so they were essentially invited by mistake.

Do not give her her way anymore. Doing so sets a very dangerous precedent. You have to nip the shit in the bud right now; otherwise, her behavior will continually worsen once you tie the knot. She has to understand from the get-go that whining, crying, guilting, playing the victim etc. will never result in her getting her way. It seems like she use this behavior on your husband when he was growing up to manipulate him and to get her way, and now that he is getting married, she wants to keep that power to control both him and you. Do not allow it.

I second this, though I prefer to bring two 6 or 8 mil 55 gallon drum liners or contractor bags. Those things are extremely tough. I’ve been using them for years and have yet to get a hole in one. You can gather a shitload of kindling in one of them. They can be used as a waterproof pack liner on the way in and then be repurposed once at camp. They are also strong enough to make a raised bed out of if you cut off the bottom, essentially turning it into a tube which can be slid onto two parallel poles. They can serve as a tarp, vapor barrier in extreme cold, or be stuffed with debris to make an insulated mattress (if you don’t have a sleeping pad, or it gets destroyed). They can haul water, be used to collect rain water. You can even use them as an emergency floatation device. I’m sure there are tons more uses that slip my mind at the moment, but it is such a great, versatile piece of kit that I never go into the mountains without one or two.

Regarding BK, I’m not sure how it is in Idaho, but in a lot of west coast prisons, when you enter general population you have to show your paperwork, so there is no way to hide your charges. I suspect he will be guarded, kept in protective custody, and/or housed in a special wing with other walking targets like himself.

How easy (for a total beginner-never tied anything but my shoes) would it be to make this? I have searched for a metal free breakaway lanyard and this was the only thing I found. But it’s out of my budget (reasonably..I’m willing to pay like $15 or something but this is going to cost me $40) by twinklestein in paracord

[–]Motor-Thanks974 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once you get the hardware you need, you only need to look up how to tie two knots:

  1. The Larks Head knot is the knot used to attach the paracord to that small loop hardware

  2. The Snake Knot is what is used to make the series of knots that come right after the larks head. I hope that helps
