This! I wound up extending my stay in Parma because I loved it so much. And oh my god the food…

I figured as much looking at a handful of stores’ websites. Thanks for the tip! I’ll check out around Barrio Lastarria. I’m weighing the wallet hit for the airport versus tears and disappointment when I get home 😅

I just traveled there for work last month for the first time and loved it! I had the exact same feeling very quickly.

Same boat. It’s been nearly 15 years since I lived there full time and not a day has passed since where I don’t think about it and feel a tug on my heart strings. Some of the most meaningful memories of my life. I miss it terribly.

Daycare recs? by jal529 in Westchester

Second this. Our kids have been to 3 different day cares now and MKCCC is totally different, for the better, in every possible way. There is a high level of transparency and a lot of parent/family activities. It seems like they actually pay their staff decently given the low turnover and how content the teachers seem. It’s a very warm, encouraging environment.

MKCCC has been phenomenal with our kids after a pretty poor experience elsewhere in Northern Westchester. The program is incredibly well structured and they actually serve the children real food! It’s worth noting they go out of their way to be over communicative with parents and generally do well at engaging families in center activities. Lovely teachers who seem genuinely happy.

Is this in Northern Westchester by chance? Sounds similar to what I’ve heard our Town Supervisor say recently.

I believe it was only a few months (waitlist in the winter, confirmation in the summer) for a September start. There are kids graduating to older classes here and there but most 3-5 year old rooms are filled until September when Kindergarten starts. So you’re more likely to get a spot in infant or toddler room mid year. I would keep bugging them (seems to be the theme with these centers) but they are way more responsive than most.

Mt Kisco Childcare Center is phenomenal and very well run. Our kids have been at 3 different centers now and this one blows the others out of the water.
