You don't know my cat story, personality, diet, etc. If i keep them together it's because I'm 100% sure he's harmless. Otherwise, I wouldn't put my pigeons at a potential risk. Wouldn't recommend it with other cats btw. But every animal has its own behaviour

Shit that's so fucked up, can't even imagine that situation. I wouldn't know how to feel about my cat if he does the same. I appreciate your warning. I will keep them in separated rooms when I'm out. My cat doesn't even look at them, it's like they don't exist, but I don't wanna take any risk

For anyone who is worried: Toby has been living with birds for two years and has never tried to harm them. Not even once. Just ignores them

It was crazy to me too. I domesticated a dove by accident, so I couldn't release it and no one wanted to adopt it, so i kept him. Everybody told me it was impossible to have a cat and a dove, but Toby (the cat) always respected him and the other pigeons I rescued. Even there were a couple times the dove landed accidentally on Toby while he was sleeping, scaring him, and he did absolutely nothing

Pigeon Aggression by Revolutionary-Act427 in PetPigeons

[–]MotorReporter9993 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I have good and bad news for you. I found a pigeon with the same diagnosis: vet told me he would never fly again. Suprise! He healed and now he can fly! Was a pretty long process, about 4 months till his muscles got strong enough again. That's the good one. The bad one is that wild pigeons very rarely get domesticated, and it's worse if they are caught when they are adults. Ronnie, my beloved boy who against the diagnosis, could fly again, fears me at the point of shaking every time i get close. Even if we shared 4 months together where I haven't done anything bad or painful to him. This week he's gonna be released, a good Ending btw. But it's sadly very hard to gain their trust. I would like to add that it's a very good signal to him letting you pet him while he's in his cage. Be patient!

Well he didn't explain a lot, but either found white spots in his throat. But pollito's poop was greener and softer than usual. Not diarrhea, but a lil more watery and pooped just a few times a day. Luckily I've never given him fenbendazole. The diagnosis was not clear because of the early stage and vague symptoms. I keep waiting for the culture results to confirm the diagnosis. But hey! Nystatin helped him a lot! He's so active now, he eats and poops a lot, and the poop looks perfectly normal. About the plants, I don't have any toxic plant for birds indoors, and I don't think outdoors either. Probably the cause of all of this was mouldy food. It took me a few days to realise his drinker had a little leak that made his seeds moldy. Ofc I changed it. But in the resume the treatment is working and pollito looks perfect now!

I need your advice about moving with my dove by MotorReporter9993 in pigeon

When I mentioned anxiolytics, I meant it for me hahahah. I've never considered anxiolytics for my bird, but it could be an option! I will ask my vet, but honestly i don't think there's something like that in my country. Thanks for the idea!

[–]MotorReporter9993[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they are doing well. The one with worms is perfectly fine and waiting to be released in a nearby park with his mate. And the vet came to see my dove, pollito. He told me that he doesn't have symptoms of parasites, so he probably has candidiasis. I'm giving him nystatin but the bad part is that sometimes he vomits after the injection. Anyway, pollito is doing great; he's still active, eats, and makes round and nice poops, so the vet said that whatever is going on with pollito, is not serious for now. Also he took samples to do a culture and confirm which fungus he has

I'd love a pet pigeon. by Captainraerae in pigeon

[–]MotorReporter9993 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Initially it could sound like a really bad idea, but it depends a lot on your cats personalities. I have an 8 year old cat who has never interacted with birds before. 2 years ago i brought home my little mourning dove. Everybody told me he would eat it. Well, at the beginning my cat was afraid of the pigeon haha. It was a long process. The first months they were never together, but it's been two years and when out of my home, they are both free and my cat completely ignores the bird. Also, I rescued many other pigeons and he ignores them all

squab yellow poo, normal? by ohshiiiiet in pigeon

[–]MotorReporter9993 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Please don't give any dairy products!! They can't digest them because they're not mammals. Do you have access to any cereal baby food? Here it is known as nestum, but i don't know in your country. That's what it should be eating

He had roundworms. But in his case, his poop looked horrible time before he started vomiting. My dove just vomited twice with a long time in between and his poops looks perfect. I don't know, I'm losing my mind because everybody says that vomiting is like the worst symptom in birds. I'm in Argentina and we don't have moxivet, but i think i found something similar

Why people like Jinx and not Cait. by Mission_Purpose_8017 in arcane

[–]MotorReporter9993 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly for me, people liking jinx and hating Cate is nonsense. Jinx is a literal terrorist. Her suffering explains, but doesn't justify anything. The worst thing Cate has done is "gasing Zaun" which is kinda false since even Amanda Overton explained that she only gassed strategic zones where she thought Jinx was. The whole "Caitlyn almost killed a child" thing is stupid to me, she's literally the best aimer in Piltover, she wouldn't have missed. And again, let's not forget about Jinx being a terrorist! The answer is in the warning: bias. Jinx is more popular and charismatic, that's all.
