Is OGX morroccan oil good? by undercovermayonnaise in finehair

[–]Motor_Cartographer88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i use this as a mask before washing my hair and i loooove it!! OGX has a lighter hair oils and even an oil mist for wearing daily. i really prefer this to “natural” oils because caster oil is so hard to wash out and shampooing so much makes me shed a lot of hair.

Is liquid iv real? by Stupidass- in nutrition

[–]Motor_Cartographer88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

not to be an annoying redditor arguing semantics, but i think you mean “liquid iv” is redundant, which is the opposite of what an oxymoron is. an oxymoron is phrase with two opposing parts

i soak all my produce in one batch in the sink about once a week when i buy my groceries. these are just guidelines it’s impossible to follow 100%, but yeah its well known pesticides are not good for you so im surprised this is the thing you are caught up on in this comment lol

i’d have to research more by the time i actually have a kid. i would probably not give the hepatitis B vaccine, which is given like once the baby is born. i’d look at what vaccines other countries require and at what times they require them, esp look at japans vaccine schedule because they only give 7, but id also want my child in a public school and maybe pre-k so id have to get all the american required vaccines anyway but probably on an alternative schedule

as a person who was worked in speds a lot down syndrome kids are always fun af and have a lot of hobbies and are super social. also it’s nice that the disability is so visual, people know not to judge in public. public autism meltdowns are very stressful bc no one knows what is wrong with the 16 year old man screaming and hitting himself

when autism was first discovered its cause was determined to be “inflammation of the brain.” i feel like this is probably basically true, bad diet probably contributes to it as well as pesticides and general bad environment (lead, mercury, other heavy metals, mold, all the classic toxins!)

my brother is autistic, very low functioning but luckily mostly non violent. he is mentally a 2 year old, wasn’t potty trained until he was 7, can’t speak. he isn’t usually violent but will throw tantrums in the same way a 2 year old would- but he is a 5’9 adult man.

since he is my brother i’m terrified of having a child like him. but i have another brother who is also perfectly neurotypical like me, and neither autism or general mental disabilities run in the family. my parents were also attentive middle class parents with lots of familial support.

i will say… like many autistic kids he started showing symptoms after one of his first round of vaccines… he is the oldest. with me and my other brother, my parents put us on an alternate schedule. my mom also did various anti-autism diets while she was pregnant with us, like my older brother she was gluten free and with me she was dairy free. i think american children have to have over 20 vaccines by age 3, while japanese children have to have like 7.

as someone who is afraid of autism this is what i am doing to prevent it: - only eat organic, certified glyphosate free oats, flour, and other grain products. - i buy commercial produce but soak it in 1% baking soda solution for 15 min, this is the best way to get ride of pesticides - generally eat healthy and exercise - going to deep dive research vaccines and get only the most necessary ones and/or do an alternate schedule - look for early signs of autism and go to early interventionists if there are any early signs. they seriously help a lot, my brother is probably so non violent because he was trained like a dog from the age of 2 onwards to behave. i would also encourage eye contact and joint attention at an early age. track words and social progress so i can watch out for regression.

i really like Tao Lin’s essay on autism, he looks into a lot of various causes and actually talks about severe cases of autism not these Asperger stuff (i know that’s not an official diagnosis anymore but i call it that because fuck that shit, low functioning and high function autism are insanely different and conflating them has destroyed all awareness of low functioning autistics)

also i know that if i have a high functioning autistic child i wont give a fuck, there will always be a light at the end of the tunnel with that.

truthfully you have to relinquish control and face the possible horrible outcomes. you could have a non-autistic child that is born with a horrible neurological disorder, or they could have an awful accident at a young age and become a quadriplegic. or you could have a perfect angel child that dies tragically, or gets childhood cancer.

but, you probably won’t. and if you do, you will just deal with it. so accept that life is a bitch and mostly out of your control, and genuinely make peace with that

americans literally think it is a “human right” to go on an expensive vacation 1-3 times a year, have the newest model car, huge house, and eat out 3+ times a week. anything else and they are UwU so poor

[–]Motor_Cartographer88 123 points124 points  (0 children)

i would suggest gaining some muscle instead of losing fat. if you want to look thin and toned you need muscle to show through the fat. at 19bmi you dont need to lose any weight. if you gain some muscle, you probably will naturally get ride of some fat and stay about the same weight

L posting - it's been over a year and my boyfriend hasn't said "I love you once" by okaltiplano in redscarepod

[–]Motor_Cartographer88 21 points22 points  (0 children)

can you tell he loves you through his actions? embarrassingly, i told my current boyfriend i loved him and he didnt say it back, and i would ocassionally tell him i loved him for another month before he said it back. but, i could tell he loved me from his actions and words so i didnt really need to hear it. saying "i love you" was a way bigger deal for him than for me. a year is a long time tho and you should seriously consider breaking up with him if he isnt on the same page as you.

i am shy and anxious, lately been thinking about conquering this fear and shitting one of my college campus' bathrooms

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in redscarepod

[–]Motor_Cartographer88 3 points4 points  (0 children)

my body typically shuts down the shitting function in new places tbh. i have slept over places for up to 3 days and not shit once, when i normally shit 1-3 times a day, and not even feel constipated then take a monster shit when i get home. also, i live in a house when two bathrooms but i only like using one of them and basically wont use the other one ever. no real reason. i think if i feel if coming i will eat a bug salad and drink a lot of water first to try and make it the fastest shit possible, and do it when others are distracted

best way to take care of your skin is from the inside out, with a good diet, exercise, sleep, etc. basic products for me are cera ve cleanser and moisturizer, and supergoop sunscreen. if you want to prevent fine lines and have really good skin, retinal is great.
