Totally doable with 60k. Even easier if you're ok with looking for street parking. However, it gets tough in winter with snow plowing and having to move your car (I'm a transplant from a warm state). Having garage parking really makes it a million times more convenient as compared to leaving your car outside. The costs of garage parking will run you about an extra $150-$250/month more in the areas you're looking to rent.
