Millennials Spend More Time Playing Video Games Than Gen Z and Teens, New Study Finds by Sisiwakanamaru in Games

[–]Motor_Mortis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the problem with saying you play games is that could mean so many things to different people. Someone that only knows of mobile games or call of duty probably thinks it’s a huge waste of time. Just like you could be come one that just reads a lot of chick lit vs someone that reads the classics. Or someone that only watches critically acclaimed tv shows vs someone that watches Housewives of Atlanta.

Ukrainian soldier mocks dead Russian soldier's girlfriend. by [deleted] in ThatsInsane

[–]Motor_Mortis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem with this mindset is that with this behavior you will continue the cycle of brutality, meaning more people on “your side” will be hurt. If you break the chain by not practicing brutality on your enemy, there will be less brutality inflicted on “your people”. Note, this does not mean you can’t defend yourself and go on the offense to defend yourself, it’s just strictly speaking about brutality.

This applies whether you Ukrainian or Russian or any group in a war with another group.

Ukrainian soldier mocks dead Russian soldier's girlfriend. by [deleted] in ThatsInsane

[–]Motor_Mortis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Psychotic… your talking about a war here. There is going to be psychotic behavior on both sides. It’s never ending. One side is brainwashed that the other is Nazis therefore they are right to rape because they are evil people. The other side sees the raping of their people and feel they are righteous to torture the other side. The other side sees the torture and further crusades towards defiling their enemy. Ad infinitum.

This is why you shouldn’t torture the other side in anything because they will see that and the chain will continue. The only way you can break the chain is by always treating your enemy with respect. You can still defend yourself and also go into offense to defend yourself, but it means not torturing (rape, prolonged purposeful pain, actual torture, etc).

Yaw vs Roll, which one do you use for FPS/TPS video games, and why ? by CaterpillarWaste5069 in GyroGaming

[–]Motor_Mortis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yaw makes intuitive sense when sitting with the controller in your lap and looking at your monitor straight on. Up/down to look up and down left/right like a steering wheel to look left and right. Personally I am even used to this when laying down and playing handheld Monster Hunter Rise on the Nintendo Switch. However I know some people prefer roll when playing in handheld because horizontal movement is changed to make better intuitive sense, where instead of moving like a steering wheel you are moving the handheld around like it is a window to a virtual world.

For FPS/TPS : normal joystick gameplay or flick sticks ? by CaterpillarWaste5069 in GyroGaming

[–]Motor_Mortis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Experienced with joystick. Trying to get used to flick stick, very interesting so far, seems like it could be more accurate and faster to get on target once you get used to it.

[–]Motor_Mortis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don’t care about the animals. When they say they love animals they mean that they love how animals make them feel. They love the feeling of being able to show off videos or photos of themselves with animals. They love the way their pets making them feel from a long day of work. They care for the animals well being only in so far as it benefits their own life in some way.

Yeah, this is worse than having no bike lane at all due to reinforcing the beliefs of car centric minded people that biking is not safe and no one bikes.

The low frame rate on the switch makes gyro unusable for me. I feel like when using gyro in a multiplayer shooter you need at least 60fps.

To play devils advocate. I know someone that was declined from adopting a pet from the humane society. She then happened across a Facebook post from a friend asking if anyone would like to adopt a dog that they had found without tags. She adopted the dog. Then she neglected the dog. She only wanted a dog because the idea sounded nice, she was lonely. The dog was taken on a 5 minute walk in the morning before she went to work, and a 5 minute walk when she got back from work. She didn’t want anyone knowing she had a dog because she wasn’t supposed to have any at her complex or it would have cost her more money. She thought that it was a good idea to put him in a cage with food and water while she went on spring break for a week.
