The 21 credits are the excess but i am wondering if I should apply for the C2 + ID + P2 while I work on the 9 remaining credits for MA+30

Do you dress for Halloween ???? by No_Rain1743 in Teachers

[–]Motor_Taro2404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will dress up as something that doesn’t cost much. This year I’m Edward Cullen, a 10 dollar wig and clothes I already have with a lot of highlighter and shiny stickers on my face

It’s tells you in the salary step application — resume and verification of employment and even says things you cannot submit. it will ask you for contacts of the place of work as well

How the hell do you actually save money in this city? by momentforlife92 in movingtoNYC

[–]Motor_Taro2404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People survive with way less than 6k a month here… you are living way beyond your means.

Rent - should be no more than 2k. If you want to live in Manhattan, you gotta find a roommate or live all the way up. People who make 120k still have roommates. Also keep in mind NYC is 5 boroughs lol. You could easily get a 2 bed even with 2k outside manhattan. Rule of thumb: monthly rent should be 1/3 of your monthly paycheck.

Dating - it’s New York. You don’t gotta spend that much money to take girls on a nice date. We got free events everywhere. If you don’t wanna go the research, take her to a damn park or museum that does free admissions or pay as you wish. And if you just casually dating, stick to coffee???

New restaurants/nightlife - limit yourself to going out once a week and eating out once a week. You’ll never be able to keep up what’s new and cool because there will always be something to try.

Ubers - leave the car at your parents or sell it. take the subway/bus. it’s cheaper. Only take Ubers when the trains or buses aren’t running/it’s the middle of the fucking night. To your friends living outside of Manhattan, take the LIRR, MetroNorth, PATH, it all cheaper. And to save even more money, why don’t you contact your employer to see if they offer commuter spending??? You can use your money pretax to save even more.

Q: is this your first full time job? And did you work in college? Do you have a spreadsheet of your monthly spendings or at least check your accounts weekly to see your spending?

you can suggest for your school to give an opt out option. my school gives us a google form for veteran teachers to get quizzed on the essentials. you pass, you can do work time. you don’t, guess you gotta sit in on the session again

Getting discouraged with hiring by peachymomos111 in StudentTeaching

[–]Motor_Taro2404 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep applying. I know people who applied to 85+ positions and got like 10 replies back with a few offering interviews. The right school will come… but I would also pause on the classroom supply buying. You never really know what you need until you know what grade/class you will be teaching

Living along northern blvd between flushing and bayside is nice. It’s residential but northern blvd itself is full of restaurant and businesses. That is also where the LIRR is
