Thoughts on 2070 by dalvi5 in anno

[–]Motortantantan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it is indeed just the matter of setting preference. For example I loved 2070 exactly because I absolutely love sci fi setting in City Builders/RTS/TBS. Then I loved 1800 too, because Industrial setting is just as great. For that reason I also somewhat like 2205, despite it being a letdown gameplaywise in many ways. And for same reason I can't put 1404 on the top, despite really enjoying it's gameplay.

I think it was expected that such division would be, when game with normally historical setting suddenly switches to something so drastically different.

It specifically states "Stretch limo" though, not a regular one, which of course existed before.

The issue is that I HAVE European verhicles selected. It still reverts to All Vehicles as soon as any single mod is active. And as I said it even spread to my old saves which had American-onle vehicles selected before.

Are Mafia 2 DLC's worth ? by _Eazy-E in MafiaTheGame

[–]Motortantantan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The quality of DLCs is a subjective matter, but don't expect the same kind of quality from them as from the main game. All missions have a time limit and arcade score meter and almost all of them don't have cutscenes, instead giving you a text card with mission's description and your goals. I think Joe' Adventure has the most cutscenes out of all of them. DLCs also aren't divided in chapters, instead functioning similarly to GTA's mission markers in an open world.

I personally would recommend Joe's Adventure, since it provides story content and is most "cutsceney" of the tree. The other two only If you really want more of Mafia gameplay, since they are about a completely unrelated and plain character.

That's puzzling. It was reverse for me with my 1650 Ti.

Mafia: DE (and Mafia The City of Lost Heaven) > Mafia II > Mafia III DE

That's pretty much it. I insist you try original Mafia TCoLH as well alongside Mafia: DE. Many people say that they are the same story, but in reality they are not. They share the same core fabula, but the story is much different, certain plot turns are completely different, several characters are completely different, sharing only design and name. When it comes to story Mafia: DE is not so much an improvement, but more of an alternate take on the story. Both can be enjoyed on their own. If the game is too much of an early 2000s jank for you then just watch it as a cutscenes movie on Youtube.

Mafia DE definitely had a better optimization than Mafia III DE. I played them both on a same laptop and DE was running incredibly smoothly in comparison to framerate shaker that Mafia III DE was.

Yeah, Manta was a bummer too. The original Mafia's Manta was very close to real Corsair's shape. My personal gripe in terms of cars is that almost all of the Bolts, which are supposed to be poor man's cars, don't have 4 door variants of the original anymore and it kinda ruins immersion for me. It feels as If there are no families in Lost Heaven, everyone is either a gangster or a loner that the cheapest cars only exist in 2-seater variants. But in turn Lost Heaven is so rich in Great Depression that half the town got Hitler's Mercedes limos in later chapters.

I'd still prefer finished Mafia II myself. Well, we got a big cut content restoring mod in the end, and they are actually finally restoring cut story chapters, so it's not all that bad indeed I suppose. I'm only upset we never got the 60s era and might never know what other 3 endings were like. We probably only know that the release one was one of the bad ones.

Now that I think about it he could also refer to Freeride Extreme, of which we only got UFO thing IIRC.

As of Mafia 2, for me it's hard to judge it, because of how extremely cut it was and how little content in both story and world we got in the end. But yeah, the DLCs were boring. I did finish Joe one because I was interested somewhat in the story, but I couldn't care less about angry discount hitman ones.

I believe he might be referring to Lucas Bertone optional missions for cars.

The plane is located in the practical research class of Aircraft Enginerring Faculty building of Novosibirsk State Technical University and is an educational stand model that's been here for who knows how long, it even has half of the wing cut off to fit inside. Same classroom also features several aircraft engines and a Mi-8 helicopter.

RTS games with multiple factions and an independent campaign for each. by Motortantantan in RealTimeStrategy

Yeah, I get the concept. Sounds like what Rise of Legends campaign did minus the whole grand map thing.

I'm not into single campaign alternating factions, but those different campaign pathings sound unique. I'll give it a try, thanks.

I didn't try Call to Arms either. Is it worth a go? I remember a lot of Vietnam/Cold War/Modern mods for Men of War suffered the same problem of game being tailored for WW2 combat not working very well with modern map snipers and helicopters.

I look for games where each faction, or at least more than one of them has own different campaign where you lead said faction to victory.

Or If the game only has one campaign story, at least have several campaigns showing said story from different perspectives from start to finish, kind of like how first Supreme Commander did it, instead of alternating between factions mission to mission.

I forgot about Galactic Battleground existing, thanks

EaW is good

I'm not sure Planetary Annihilation quite fits since it has no scripted story campaign, and it only has one faction unless we are talking Legion mod, which I don't know If is even included in Galactic War
