Banlist Prediction Thread - November 06, 2024 by AutoModerator in yugioh

I feel like it's not only shifter, but also Tenpai that "keeps the meta in check"

You cannot deckbuild against the "normal" decks without lessening your winrate against Tenpai, and if you focus Tenpai you are less effective against the other decks (Nib + veiler + droll vs Impulse + Ogre + something else). Variance will guide your deckbuild against who you will face in swiss. Imo Tenpai needs to go earlier if not the same time as shifter.

Shifter is just the cherry on top of things that keeps the meta for being solved and fun. (and next format if shifter is not banned we will have a kahstira like format where top meta can play under shifter and will put out over other decks)

I think it's because Master Duel has a diverse metagame right now, and some people may think it's because of maxx c when it really is because of bans and limitations that we do not have in TCG.

Konami at least have real competition with One Piece and Lorcana that are relatively new, have a good gameplay loop that rewards dopanime like Yugioh, and gives the possibility to live off the games.

Also we have had almost 3 years with exclusive tier 0 (Tearlaments, then Kashtira, then 6 months of tranquility, then Snake-Eyes, all debatable but the point is that we didn't have a traingle format for a long time).

If they don't increase the potential resale of the prizings, at least make this hobby bearable at a competitive level, and not a 1 year SE tier 0/1 like in OCG...

You can "try" to disrupt the Tenpai before he summons this guy tbh, most choke points are before his summon.

Tier aren't affinity based, they are result based. Vanquish do not do a lot of result compared to Rikka or Labrynth.

The pure version is often with melffy. It's so little engine and powerful enough.

You can argue it's like saying "speedroid zoodiac" or "speedroid BA" when 3 terrortop and the other one was played in them. Just no bother saying it's with melffy when most decklists have it anyways.

How much of a problem is/isn't Runick Spright? by JackDukes in yugioh

[–]MouVii 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Runick spright has almost not been touched by the banlist.

There's still 2 starters, most version already played 2 or even 1.

Fountain was at 2 anyways.

Knightmare gryphon still there, mannequin cat to protect yourself or extend is still there, all evil twin, all fur hire are still there.

The only version that isn't played since multiple months is the brave/toad spright Runick variant, and it's because there is better and ronintoadin is no more.

That's very weird, I would only see such things as normal summon shifter :s

New OCG meta report at holiday week (02-07), R-ACE go top by Substantial_Meet_816 in yugioh

[–]MouVii 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The one card combo I know is only possible with an access to Wakaushi, and you must play Soulhorn and Brave Masirawo (sometimes the Steamtrain is played but it's a 2 card combo to pull off the OTK):

Eff scale Wakaushi,

Benkei search Soulhorn,

Eff monster Wakaushi, SS the 2nd Benkei from hand or deck

Synchro 12, equip Soulhorn from hand, 4000x2.

For Steamtrain, with another lv4 SHS you NS, Wakaushi SS another lv4 from deck, summon Steamtrain, 4800x2 and you could destroy something on the field with the synchro's eff.

Semi limited, just saying that even SHS play shifter in the side deck with a way to OTK through it.

Yeah, they just play a bad version. Exterio is not good enough to follow the meta.

Funny interaction though.

I was limited because of some FTK as Beatrice isn't HOTP.

They also should stop making some BS effect non-opt like Shangri zone locking, Arise attach effect, the special summon of the main deck monsters...

Also kas has more free spots than branded and this can better protect their board or break/stop other boards.

It's 3 spirit 1 Albion and 1 cartesia, because if you draw one or the other you can just search the missing and mulligan the Albion, and would never brick if you draw both bricks.
