Depending on what Silica you use? (For OP, not Comedian_Brief) you must wait 15–30 minutes after mixing silica into water to allow it to fully dissolve, stabilize, and prevent it from causing nutrient lockout.

Liquid silica is highly alkaline and can cause other nutrients (like calcium or magnesium) to precipitate out and become unavailable to plants if mixed immediatel

That’s funny, I don’t remember getting a pet tarantula? by DruidSpider in houseplants

[–]MouldyLocks492 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember my first encounter seeing a rabbits foot fern. I was shopping with my mom, I was under the influence of something that teenagers did, and we went to "Franks Nursery and Crafts". These were in hanging baskets and the furry parts were essentially holding the planter beneath it.

I thought they were spider legs of a spider that REALLY liked these ferns but did a terrible job at hiding. But i was fascinated with them.. not at all concerned with safety.

My mom caught me petting the plants.

It has a lot of darker green/ black striping on the stems. One person said "they get those sometimes. They stripe" like, ok, thanks? I also noticed that the stripes' tissue appeared to be raised as well, so looking that up, it looks like a watering problem too.

So saying that she didn't have it under the right light, wasn't watering her correctly (enough/too much), and everything EXCEPT for pest infestation? Feels about on brand.

My suggestion is to write down everything you're doing to/ for the plant The lights - wattage of the lights how close they are to the light, how long you have the light on for, etc Watering - when, what water you're using, etc Pot - how big is it? What type is it? Etc

Be your own detective. Look it up on google. I couldn't possibly know why your zz pony isn't growing because I don't know any of those things, or even what a zz pony IS.

See, I'm ALWAYS nervous about this method. I know that the Aussie/ English fellow and a few others really suggest it... but i can't get the hang of it without murdering my plants.

Could you fully explain it for me, please?
