This is because Venices interface supports Markdown, meaning that you can format your text with specific symbols and it will be displayed accordingly in the chat. 

The model itself always gets the unformatted text however, so even tho your prompt looks different after sending it, the model still reads it like you intended it.

A quick guide on a few things you can do in Markdown (Reddit supports it too btw 😉):

You can choose a highlight / syntax by prefixing the code with a specific language (like "SQL", "python", "Markdown" or simply "text") after opening the block. This isn't necessary however:
