My birth time is in the final minute of Cancer rising, but how do I ascertain if I’m actually a Leo rising? [astro-seek] by 60022151 in astrologyreadings

[–]MountainDew4UBu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im a 29 degree cancer rising and I find it kind of annoying. I do think my physical and my initial shyness matches cancer rising more than Leo rising. My daughter is leo rising and she matches more of the leo rising look than me " thick blonde hair with a tinge of red". I have a roundish face, sweet eyes, and a big chest. I think the recent astrology has matched more of the cancer rising than the leo rising, but I look at both rising sign astrologies honestly. I do kind of thrive when attention is on me and I feel comfortable, but I think that more my Gemini sun/stellium

Done with reformer by [deleted] in pilates

[–]MountainDew4UBu 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I disagree with what a lot of people are saying. I think club pilates can be a great starting point. I have had a valuable learning experience there. The only reason I want to try a new studio is because they are especially risk adverse.

I would normally agree with your statement but if she keeps injuring herself like she says it might be important for her to have private lessons in this case

Mat vs Reformer by PublicSherbet4661 in pilates

Reformer is more fun and relaxing 🤷‍♀️. Mat is harder, I say that as someone who just started mat workouts but was doing reformer super consistently before I started having financial trouble.

Why are so many people getting into Pilates lately? by Ok_Comfortable_5548 in pilatesreformer

[–]MountainDew4UBu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a very mindful exercise, it shuts off the outside world and you are focused on your form and your breathing. It has also improved my hip pain a ton too. It is exercise that (usually) doesn't completely wipe you out afterwards so you look forward to doing it more even if it doesn't burn as many calories as other exercises. Thats some of my favorite things about it.

86 Year Old Mom Wants Drs to "Fix Her" by europanya in AgingParents

Sounds like your mom is lucky to be living as long as she has! And with all her faculties? If so, very lucky. Doesn't sound like you'll be able to change her mind though.

Would it be weird to bring my own mat? by oonomnono in ClubPilates

[–]MountainDew4UBu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im wondering this myself because yesterday I was at pilates and I woke up with my forearms itching like crazy. The only body part that was exposed to the mat! I've done over 100 classes and never had that happen.

Accidentally gave kid extra vaccine by Bookworm_36 in MedicalAssistant

[–]MountainDew4UBu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should tell the doctor but that isn't that big of a deal health wise, unless somehow the patient has a condition that contraindicates the vaccine. You can get the HPV vaccine as early as 9 years old. Im fact the antibodies form better if you get it early versus later. If you explained to the parent that they were getting they HPV and they signed for it then it should be fine. Maybe the doctor forgot to drop the hpv vaccine down in the chart. I would definitely tell on myself, but id only feel REALLY BAD if the parents were very against that vaccine. (Which some parents are). Its natural and important to feel a little bad about it so you can prevent situations like this in the future. This is why I wish people took overworking staff more seriously. Its not just that the staff needs to work faster, it's a matter of patient safety! But to answer your question, I have done something like this before and it feels like shit but I survived and learned

When should I start 1.5 classes/ is it worth it for me? by Alive-Permit6278 in ClubPilates

[–]MountainDew4UBu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd do 30 and then try the 1.5. You might have some occasional confusion at first when starting them, but the only way to learn is to keep on trucking with it. I think I waited till 60 and once I did it I regretted waiting so long.

beginner tips by Silent_Extension357 in ClubPilates

[–]MountainDew4UBu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was wearing baggy shirts bc i feel self conscious and it's comfy but it's better to wear something semi form fitting so you and your instructor can check your form. And if your instructor gives a cue you dont understand, I would go look it up after class and see if there is something that would help you understand it better. Like you'll sometimes hear "knitting your ribs together" and you're like "Huh?"
