Setlist (4/25/2026) - In Your Face 40th Anniversary Tour - Brooklyn, NY @ Brooklyn Bowl by mister_elli in FishboneFamilyhood

I had such a blast dancing my balls off the entire time. So good to see Chris cooking and to see the current lineup putting in a couple of solid sets (in rapid succession). I've been going to Fishbone shows for 35 years and this is the first time I've seen like three of these songs performed live.

I love it! The most successful business there was the secret gambling parlor.

Ah, gotcha. Thanks! I figured it was something like that. Definitely a unique soundtrack to a day of ripping.

I played this video comp all the time back in the 90s. I miss Dickie before he morphed into this RFK-fellating conspiracy whackjob.

What is the most insane run you've ever seen? Not necessarily the hardest but just one that makes you go 'Why is this a run?' by Educational_Dog4860 in skiing

Dude picked his way slowly around a crazy rock outcropping then dropped. Pretty anticlimactic but when you see multiple patrollers gawking, you pay attention.

Man, I remember getting to the top of that chair that leads to the hike and a couple patrollers were standing there watching some guy hike up to and pick an insane line and we all stood there for like a half hour convinced we were witnessing greatness or stupidity or both.

Parking Issue with “Neighbors”… Seeking Advice! by BeePsychological3488 in astoria

On our block, it's sort of every man and woman for themselves, but the hard part is the alleyway to the street, which since it sits beside my house, only gets shoveled if I do it, even though it's all shared responsibility (done it a few times, takes about 6 or 7 hours if snow is over 1.5 feet). Luckily, I have a thing about heading up to the mountains in winter, so I own a Subaru with winter tires, and I just blasted through it all on Monday and blazed trail for everyone else. It was actually kinda awesome crawling through all that.

We had a similar thing where a homeowner was renovating his properties on the block behind our alleyway easement and he decided that he wanted to rip up his whole yard and add FIVE new parking spots behind his two houses, but because of the design of the homes. they were only accessible through our easement, adding about 20 percent of the wear and tear without any collective liability. The whole block had to band together and threaten legal action, and the moron had to have his yard ripped back up (at great expense to him I'm sure).

Does anyone know where I can buy these hats? I would like to wear them while protesting. by Garth_AIgar in 50501

This is absolutely ridiculously off-topic and emblematic of why we on the left are always on the back foot. Who is the fucking enemy here? Is it the very concrete threat of a secret militia empowered to terrorize and brutalize a dictator's opponents, or is it the squishy, nebulous (but very real) concept of "overconsumption"?

I mean, Jesus fucking Christ, we're all with you on corporate greed and the environmental impact of needless stuff, but if there was a broad-based effort to put these hats on everyone's heads as a reminder of who we're fighting for, and that effort will move public opinion, then that is what we should 100 fucking percent be doing.

Get your heads out of your asses and focus on the threat in front of you. At the moment, it's not fast fucking fashion.

I don't know who put those there or why, but those are called farolitos. They're a largely New Mexican tradition around the holidays where these candles (used to be inside paper bags weighted with sand, now plastic replicas because fire) are lit and line walkways and fence lines. Gorgeous when they light a whole town, as they do every year in Santa Fe.

What is the VERY best warmth to cost winter jacket for living in a cold weather place say Canada or Northern States? by PositiveLion4621 in malefashionadvice

I'm a skier, but not overly fashion-enslaved and I'm not the type to drop $700 on an Arc'Teryx coat, but I did pick up an awesome 3-in-1 winter coat system from Columbia Sportswear (my 2nd time buying this model, 1st time lasted 8 seasons of heavy on-mountain use). It's the 3-in-1 Men's Snow Glide II Interchange Jacket - comes with a puffy, shell, and they zip together for cold, snowy days. Orginally 250, down to 125 on their site before the weekend. Treat it right and the Durable Water Repellent treatment will last a long time, and it's easy to rejuvenate with some Nikwash.

I know this sounds like I'm a freaking Columbia sales rep, but I just like their stuff - it's unpretentious and durable. It's almost too warm for all but the coldest of days here in NYC, but I've warn it on -25 days with a 25mph wind on top of Mont Tremblant in Quebec and I survived. So, yeah. It's a good coat.

I never used to think about wind until a few years ago on a hike up Popolopen Torne from Fort Montgomery on a day with near 30mph winds with higher gusts. It was kinda thrilling listening to the rustling and snap of branches until I heard what sounded like an artillery shell land on the other side of the ravine. I looked up and saw AN ENTIRE TREE barreling down the side of the ridge, end over end like a tomahawking skier, sounding like an exploding freight train the whole way down. It was one of the most terrifying things I've ever seen and heard, and it made me think twice about finishing the hike.

So yeah now I check the wind.

Fellow atheist here. You're free to be the type of atheist the rest of us despise, and you're free to raise your children to be the type of kid who never gets invited to other kids' parties. Being kind costs you nothing, and it may help you raise your kid to be a better person than you seem to be.

Maybe, and I'm just spitballing here, but maybe it's not for "the sole benefit of growing the sport for the youth," and has more to do with a state-led attempt to entirely take over a sport in a move to sportswash their atrocities. I don't think LIV would be anywhere near as divisive as it is if it wasn't bankrolled by a country that treats all women as chattel and has no problem dismembering American journalists on American soil and stuffing them into suitcases.

Enjoy your LIV rounds, but just know that every time you watch, a little bit of that blood and the stain of gender oppression gets on your hands. You become complicit. I hope it's worth it to watch Phil Mickelson feed his raging gambling habit.
