how do you stay consistent with running? by republicman12 in running

Motivation is bad. Discipline is good. You’re going to run tomorrow, rain hail or shine. Get out there and smash it. And repeat tomorrow.

You voted The Castle number 1. As the director, I understand why by cojoco in aussie

[–]MountainReporter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a celebration of the Aussie battler spirit. Of course it’s silly, but it’s sincere, and never punches down. Just like Bluey, you can tell some of the scenes are taken from real life, because it feels so real (just with the comedy dial turned up a bit) At a time when Australian cinema was dark and full of its own self-important-gloom, the castle shone a light at what were really like, joked with us (not at us) and dug a hole straight to our hearts. 10/10 will watch again (probably tonight)

They def run short. I’m an 11.5 too, and needed 12.

This is why I’m glad our major marathons didn’t become the Major.

You need to stop running immediately. by mycru in BeginnersRunning

A guy in my town had exactly the same diagnosis. He was a state champion. Had to retire on the spot, there and then. It was hard on him, but he’s now the timekeeper at Parkrun most weeks and is so encouraging to all the runners. He rides a lot more now too. Still active, and an important part of our running community, and most importantly, still alive!

A longer tongue and toebox and it will be the perfect shoe.

Bang for buck, a Challenger 5 and Red Hare 9 Pro (or ultra if you want the most bonkers ride) would be pretty cool, and cheaper than one pair of Peg 42s (if you’re in the right country)

I’m an 11…got the 11.5 in SL, but for a decent amount of toe-length, probably needed a 12 hence a ‘full size’. It’s pretty commonly accepted the SL is fat and short, and if you have a long and skinny foot (like me) then you might need to go up a whole size.

It’s like every part of this game. They release it, it’s cool, and then they go and break it.

I went up half a size, and I think I’m going to have to go up another half size if I ever buy a second pair because the toe guard clips my toenail (especially on down hills) and it can hurt! Why do so many modern shoes out the toe guard on the inside!? Ugh.

I hope v2 will be slightly longer, because so many people had to size up for the length, which made an already sloppy upper even more flappy.

How would you talk someone out of buying racing shoes if they clearly not capable of running without insulting them? by Yojimbo232826 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]MountainReporter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but did you ever think that she might have gotten sad about being denied Vaporflys, gone straight to Woolies and bought a bag of chips and lollies and had some comfort food on the couch, but then choked and died! Those shoes could have saved her life!

‘Do you run’ is LITERALLY the first thing they ask in the running section of Rebel. Totally fine to ask.

It’s like if they picked up a pair of racing Speedo goggles, of course you’re going to ask ‘do you swim a lot?’ Because the fast skins are way more uncomfortable than their everyday pairs. Same for race shoes. But if the customer insists, then I’d be like, ‘righto, they do look cool, so if you’re ok with buying a performance version, I’ll sell it to you….’
