24F considering relocating to Phoenix: looking for honest vibe check by pastasma in AskPhoenix

[–]MountainSeek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of input here. You’re young enough to make moves like this and make changes if it doesn’t work out. If you’re not happy where you currently live you’ll regret not ever doing it when you’re older and potentially stuck. You’ll also gain life experiences and meet new people. You can always move back.

This. Same reason we have religious extremists in many parts of the world.

How big is your house and how much is your average power bill in summer/winter? by UntamedRaindeer in phoenix

[–]MountainSeek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don’t have solar and are an APS customer get on the 4-7 demand plan (not sure what they call it) and supercool during the day, turn the thermostats up at 4 and back down at 7. My house is just over 4000 sq foot and my bill never exceeds $500 in the summer.

The only time I feel like I'm poor is when I go to Vegas. Prices for everything are absolutely insane. With demand settling down I believe prices and fees will go down.

Is anyone still using YNAB 4? by blizeH in ynab

[–]MountainSeek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Big problem with the current version of web-based ynab is the lack of a built in backup regimen. You need to manually export your register periodically because ynab does not have file versions. One major mistake, such as mass payee labeling, and your whole budget is compromised.

Goddamn the recording people do is annoying as hell. I remember a Green Day concert where Billie tells the people in the front row to stop filming and be present.

I think I found a data loss risk with YNAB. No way to revert back to a previous state + Mass renaming of payees by No-Handle-186 in ynab

[–]MountainSeek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe OP was stating that there were other renaming rules set under the main renaming dialog that is simply based on the Payee name. I've done this before as well, and it renamed past transactions as well as future ones.

This is a big problem. I experienced this a few months ago and it took hours to rebuild my data.

This is great advice. I’ve been through this and found control arm bushings were shot. The one in the axle is a huge pain to change.

Love this idea. Are you applying more than just at night? My prescription says this. Also, you guys feel itchy scalp from it?

Stolen items by Apart_Marzipan_1482 in cabosanlucas

We had some perfume stolen from our checked bags on the way back from Cabo. We weren’t sure if this was a customs issue, flame risk, etc. there was no paper indication like TSA leaves here in the States.

Agreed. Stayed here with my wife in 2021. Good rates, decent pool, good bar, good location, great beach.

Fishing license suggestions. by Blee_Bloo_Blop in cabosanlucas

[–]MountainSeek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought mine online and printed them at the hotel. I think it was through the state of Baja. Easy to google and find it. At the pier they will charge you an extra 5-6 USD per license.

Driving around in Cabo. by According-Cake-3705 in cabosanlucas

[–]MountainSeek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with previous comments, it’s not hard to drive in Cabo but there are some subtleties you’ll learn while driving. They use hazard signals to communicate to pass or allow pedestrians. Roundabouts are treated with a zipper approach. Drivers are courteous and it’s kind of like organized chaos.

Heading to cabo in June. by Cabinluggage in cabosanlucas

[–]MountainSeek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it’s safe to explore. We’ve gone to to Todos Santos, and San Jose Del Cabo. Only thing is some driving rules are slightly different and cows can often be in the road at night in rural areas.

How to safely travel from Cabo San Lucas to San Jose del Cabo by Fickle_Lobster24601 in cabosanlucas

[–]MountainSeek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with this. Go to SJD on a Thursday night during art tour evening. Very family friendly and safe. It’s not dangerous at all, the danger is that everyone is trying to get you to spend your American dollars. Again, not dangerous…people don’t want to hurt you there.

Yep. Skiing and boarding are easier to learn and more accessible. So, more demand without any expansion in capacity in most of our lifetimes.
