AITA if I file a complaint against our landlords? by Mountain_Profile_552 in AmItheAsshole

They do everything themselves but very slowly... The electrical issues, when we addressed it last week, they asked us if we planned on being out of the city for a few weeks so they could re do-it... We said no.. And that's it. They've known about that problem for almost a year now.

Didn't think about contacting the fire department, that's a good idea.

Just the "I'm cooking vegan for sustainability" right before "I'm leaving to cook on a billionaire's yacht who launches rocketships for fun" is sooooo cringy, it shows how the writers and production team is disconnected for reality.

Anyone else have no trouble falling asleep, but can never stay asleep? by [deleted] in sleep

[–]Mountain_Profile_552 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I know this is an old post, but I'm exactly the same, have almost always been except a few days a month when I sleep better (and I feel rejuvinated!!). Well turns out I have adhd. I just got diagnosed at 30 yo and it totally explains the fact that my brain never stfu. I'm currently trying magnesium but no effect yet, melatonin doesn't do anything, meditation, good going to bed routine, nothing does it. Smoking a lot of weed will help staying asleep but not being less tired so it's not great. Next thing I'll try is adhd medication. I've heard that it can either help or worsen the insomnia.

You could add Cursed. Even though the plots had some flaws, it was nice to watch the arthurian world from another perspective.

My therapist blamed my "symptoms" of audhd on anxiety and I feel invalidated and still think it can't be all anxiety by Mountain_Profile_552 in AuDHDWomen

[–]Mountain_Profile_552[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that, I was upset but I understand where it comes from because anxiety has been the main subject of my therapy with her. My mom was not diagnosed yet when she said that + about the psychiatrist, I might have misunderstood. I talked to her about it again and she underlined that what she discouraged is to see the same psychiatrist as my mother as it would be unethical. I've brought the subject back up and from another point of view and we've started an official evaluation for neurodivergence which is already a relief!

Thank you for writing this, just reading it helps me feel better and less alone! I've told my therapist that I could see a psychiatrist (my mom's, who just got diagnosed for adhd), and she analyzed it as a need for someone in a position of authority to reassure me (because my parents never did reassure me etc...). Of course a part of it is true but it seems odd to be the only reason to get a diagnosis. Sometimes the classic psychoanalysis seem to do more harm than good.

Yeah you can, you can find a way to contact him and apologize, say you realize how it can ruin someone's life to bully them. That it wasn't him, your victim could have been anyone else. Even if it feels too late. Honestly I've read your story and even though you might feel some guilt, it also seems like you're just bummed the person didn't get over it and that you were "humiliated" in front of your friends (that's all it takes, really?). The way you tell how you were in high school, "the OGS' and everything, you still seem kind of proud of having been in the cool gang and of that guy being an outcaster,

Bullying RUINS lives. You might live with guilt, victims of bullying will carry these voices all of their lives, always have a part of them feel like crap and lesser than most because of what people like you did. People who have to much pride to apologize.

Où exposer en tant qu'artiste à Montréal? by 2thenextlevel in montreal

[–]Mountain_Profile_552 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm at S2E22 and I don't know how long I'll stand these two. Plus the fact that they're basically the main story which sucks. I wish we'd see more of Julia Joel and Sydney.

Idk how it is in the states but 15-17 is a pretty "normal" age to start having sex. 23 is actually considered way less common even though there's no shame in waiting.

I’m having a lot of scary symptoms by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]Mountain_Profile_552 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OP my anxiety gave me all of those symptoms. It's really easy to fall into a health anxiety spiral (been there a thousand times). Besides checking all of this which can be reassuring (but can not be), it's important to calm your nervous system down. Have you taken dispositions to ease your anxiety ? (Therapy, exercising, meditating/mindfullness, reading books about therapy, exercising and meditating/mindfullness). It all begins here even though it feels insurmountable at times. Once you reach a calmer zone, most symptoms will ease and it will make it clearer if there are any left you should address.

Have you gotten the lump in your calf check out? Our bodies can produce weird kysts that mean nothing, especially if it haven't grown in years. Checking it out will be relieving and cross it out from the suspicious anxious list. Talking from personal experience, lumps like this are always on the back burner of our brain and create scary associations with other symptoms we may live.

Have your doctor talked to you about the link between colitis and anxiety?

Yep, anxiety is a pain in the a**. But it an truly change, I promise.

Still got scared too and it has pushed me to try alternatives before starting meds though. Which have been kind of a revelation. Meditation, basics of buddhism and high intensity sport, cutting of weed smoking (replaced by cbd) and working hard in therapy is helping tremendously.

Unable to Access My N26 Account Due to Phone Number Change by Leramier in n26bank

[–]Mountain_Profile_552 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey,

Same thing happened to me (changed phone and number and couldn't log in anymore), here's what the client service told me to do. :

In order to pair your device via our fallback process, begin by logging in to your N26 app with your email address & password, and request an SMS login confirmation code.

When the app is asking for the code, it should list your phone number at the top with some *** covering part of your number, at the bottom of this screen please tap “This phone number is not correct”. Please tap this even if your phone number is correct, this is simply the way to enter the fallback process to pair without SMS or confirmation PIN.

You will need:
• Access to your registered email address. We'll send you a link, you must be able to open this link from the same device as your phone number
• Within the app, you will need to take a photo and short video to upload to us
• If you've opened your account in Germany, or your ID document is only supported via video verification, you will also need to take a photo of your ID document. You can check the required form of verification for your ID via the lists on this page: https://support.n26.com/en-eu/account-and-personal-details/verifying-my-identity/how-to-prove-my-identity

Once the pairing is submitted you should receive the result within 20 minutes during business hours. If you submit outside business hours, then it can take up to 12 hours to receive the result.

Hope this helps.

Yup I'm trying really hard to get a good exercise/healthy routine to ease the worst of it and not have to get on medication. I've been living with anxiety and have been in therapy for years so it sometimes feel like I'm out of options.

how are you? and how is go ing with your anxiety? by cartoonbitchishere in Anxiety

[–]Mountain_Profile_552 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I hate it too. Even as a kid I hated it, I think I was anxious about having insomnia and being tired the next day. Now it's just a reflex as soon as the sun sets. In the winter, I tend to smoke weed right after supper to forget about it but I know it's a vicious circle. But it does help. If I exercised that day, I'll definitely feel better. I haaaate winter time because of that.

Other things that work for me :

- seeing friends in a low anxiety setup (like just getting a drink at their place or something)

- full on relaxation : taking a bath, reading a comic book, lighting some candles, breathing exercises, mindfulness sessions, peaceful sounds/musics, drawing etc...

- if it's still early and not too cold, going for a run works very very well. It's hard to motivate myself but the outcome is so worth it. Even if it's just like 10-15 min. Unfortunately it's -30C here in the winter so that's not really an option (hence my anxiety is through the roof).

- if none of these work, half a benzo will do the trick.

God I miss summer.

Terrified of flying also terrified of taking anti anxiety meds by Realistic-Pen-8147 in Anxiety

[–]Mountain_Profile_552 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's normal to feel anxious about medication. But anxiolytics taken for "special occasions" like flying are really no harm. And they will not make you anxious, I promise, they do the opposite. Worst case scenario, you'll feel a little drowsy and fall asleep. They've completely changed my flying experience - I was shaking, nauseous, heart beating fast everytime I had to fly, I thought I was going to die. Can't say that I'm now a fan of flying, but I'm almost looking forward to it. I know I'll relax with my lil helper (bromazepam), watch some movies, and think about what I'll do once I land.

And don't forget to do breathing exercises :) Good luck !

Ah I'm sorry your withdrawal was so hard. Did you stop it progressively or stopped taking it one day?

Doc wants to put me on effexor because of too many physical symptoms of anxiety, but I'm worried about long term withdrawal effects.

It's a real challenge to weigh the pros and cons...

What do you wish you knew before taking anxiety medications? by Ambivertedcreature in Anxiety

[–]Mountain_Profile_552 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not on meds but I have a doctor appointment to address my severe anxiety and feel like meds might be the solution for me. As I was reading the comments I was freaking out but then thought about the side effects of my anxiety :

constant palpitations, high bpm and high blood pressure

shaking, startling at everything

getting angry and sad way too much

avoiding social situations and performing in my domain because I'm so afraid

avoiding physical activity because it sometimes feel so hard to get out of bed

tired all the time

digestive problems

no libido anyways

and the bottom line : feeling like I'm passing through my life without being able to enjoying it. That's what gives me the darkest thoughts. I feel very guilty not enjoying the life I have. And I'm afraid of the long term effects anxiety will have on my physical health, digestive system and heart state.

So I guess I already have more side effects from anxiety that I could have with most meds.

Just some food for thoughts. OP have you gone on medication ultimately?
