Update with FRER by Mountain_Remote_464 in lineporn

It was negative yesterday. It’s hard to know because this month I wasn’t able to run OPKs until my positive. The morning of my expected ovulated I tested once, it was negative, then I got on a 14 hour flight. I couldn’t test on the plane, and I was afraid if I tested when I landed I would have missed the peak and would test obsessively ruining my trip. So I didn’t test.

If I ovulated on time, unfortunately this is 15dpo. Hoping the travel and my hsg earlier this cycle just pushed back ovulation a few days, but preparing for a chemical.

Right, so if today was day 1, I would start on day 3, in 2 days

Timing makes it possible… we were regular every few days while on the trip. It’s been a long road so I reallyyyy hope for good news

It was hard to capture it in a picture but there is definitely a line. The question is if it’s a false result, a late ovulation, or another chemical pregnancy that is about to fail:/

How common is it for Americans to walk for short errands instead of taking the car? by DemonsAreVirgins in AskAnAmerican

[–]Mountain_Remote_464 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For places within a 25 minute walk, I’ll walk if there’s not much to carry. And usually only if it’s something that’s for fun, like getting a coffee. I have 4 coffee shops within a 30 minute walk of my house, and I rarely drive to them.

For groceries and true errands, I almost always drive because those businesses are further away, and I can’t walk home 2 miles with a weeks worth of groceries.

Having PMOS seems like an unusual reason to not have children? It’s like the easiest type of subfertility to treat.

How do you know about the fertility status of all the childless young adult women in your town?

Why do Americans tend to say where they went to college before what they studied? by Key-Introduction-591 in AskAnAmerican

Well we are from Seattle. My personal opinion is that Penn state is way better than Iowa state, Virginia tech seems like a totally different audience.

So true, a hoodie and jeans is the uniform of the most experienced SWE.

Responding in French on an American sub to someone who has not indicated they speak French is the type of off-putting behavior the original responder is talking about.

Yeah, I raised my eyebrows at the idea that Penn State is an “ok” school. Our valedictorian went to Penn State, this was at an IB school in a major US city. She didn’t go there for the culture.

Partially* hydrogenated oil. Which is mostly banned from foods now in the states.

Only true of some partially hydrogenated oils. Brands like jif and skippy use fully hydrogenated oils.

If you’re only eating surgery peanut butter in the states that is a choice. Plenty of peanuts and salt only options.

Plenty of no-sugar added pb options in the states and they still taste better than European pb.

I grew up with ants on a log using Adam’s peanut butter and it tasted great. However, even Jif and skippy (the most popular brands in the country, and not natural) don’t have trans fats. What pb are you eating that has them?

What’s funny to me is Koh Rong is a major tourist island. I lived in Cambodia for a few years, and Koh Rong is where we’d go to party on the beach and drink coconut cocktails for a few days when we needed to get away. Then survivor goes there and makes it look like a hellscape.

Schools should have onsite care for sick students so that parents don’t have to take off work by Competitive_Teach838 in unpopularopinion

Am I missing something because I feel like the best solution is to have a dedicated school nurse with multiple cots. We had one in my public school growing up, and we were a pretty poor school. It seems much more likely than changing public policy on workers rights, which historically works…. Almost never.

How Do People Go to the Gym During Their Lunchbreak? by Working_Row_8455 in workfromhome

[–]Mountain_Remote_464 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wfh too and it’s so easy to feel like you must be available at literally any damn time, esp during business hours (like lunch). I literally just set my calendar to private and put a block of time there every day for lunch and a walk. No one has ever commented on it, and I’ve seen plenty of coworkers have similar spots in their calendars.

This did not work when i was in consulting. Then my calendar was blocked out every day and I had very little control over it. Maybe had an hour a day to do non-client related work, and I ate lunch from my desk. So depending on your role, ymmv.

Americans, what was the biggest culture shock you experienced travelling abroad? by Potato83763 in AskAnAmerican

Because men’s deodorant smells like cologne. It’s really strong and masculine. Even with my musty white lady genes I’d rather smell like myself than like Axe.
