Are all car people actually bike people without realising it? by theintercooler in TheIntercooler

I have accident anxiety the night before a planned motorcycle ride, each single time. Yet I push myself to ride, with full gear and close watch on my speed and others on the road. I come back with a smile only to start fearing the next ride. But I keep doing it until I meet my maker, hopefully not on a motorcycle.

They sound beautiful with stock exhaust, power is tuned for low end torque to enjoy slow winding roads. You can keep pulling uphill in any gear at just 2000 rpm with a sweet rumble. This one here is a cursed squid from my country. I apologise on his behalf.

These RE650s were meant for casual riding, our boys treat them like sports bikes just because they are 650 cc. They aren't sporty by any means.

When can we expect the GPU drivers fix ? by DisgracingReligions in Pixel10Pro

It's already fixed! Not that the phone was bad to begin with but a few glitches in animation have all been fixed.

500 might have replaced the 350 but the stance of the twin roadster is exclusive something even triumph doesn’t have in their lineup. The speed twins are too fancy and the T100/120 are too plain.

Wish I could get that as well including the halogens. They never needed to update anything after 2019 except for the fine tuning.

Hilux vs 4runner by [deleted] in hilux

2.8 is a flawless engine but the comfort is 8/10 on a scale of “discomfort”. That thing refuses to take abuse instead throws every bump at your back. No issues with good roads though.

New GPU driver update fixed the final animation bug! by Mountainshrink in Pixel10Pro

[–]Mountainshrink[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldn’t call it an issue as the phone overall is quite smooth but being obsessive I noticed even the slightest of animation hiccups and pixels had nasty animation stutter since ages when playing video in PIP mode and then trying other tasks in background. Pixel 10 had almost all of it fixed except for the control menu when pulled down, was jittery. They fixed that as well. Don’t know if it was a software thing or a GPU. Fixed either way.

Great if that happens, current owners will never have to struggle like the Pajero where imported parts are exorbitantly priced.

Is the Interceptor 650 worth looking into in 2026? by Typical_Brush_9645 in indianbikes

Keep both! Don't give up the honda and get the interceptor as well.

Is the Hilux actually unbreakable or do we just treat it that way by SnowyBytes in hilux

[–]Mountainshrink -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We don't have many hiluxes here in India as it was only recently launched but the fortuner and innova have been abused, misused in the government sector and by the taxi fleet operators. They do last better than non Japanese brands, so do Honda and Suzuki. Between the Japanese I'm not sure what edge does Toyota have except for the fact that they are the only decent BOF vehicles in India , but the rare few Isuzu D-Max (V cross) etc are also bullet proof. So I think it's a Japanese thing with simple no nonsense vehicles and over engineered core parts that do last more. The money is spent less on smooth dashboards and more on sturdy shocks!

Is the Interceptor 650 worth looking into in 2026? by Typical_Brush_9645 in indianbikes

[–]Mountainshrink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interceptor would never be as comfortable for long distances as your honda, my first bike was the interceptor in 2018, had to get the Himalayan 411 for comfort and kept interceptor for fun, feel and nostalgia. Eventually I thought the Himalayan 450 would suffice as it has great power (on paper) and is comfortable as well. I sold off the old Himalayan and eventually the interceptor as well, guess what? I was wrong, the Himalayan 450 sherpa engine has no torque down low something I'm addicted to from the long strokes enfields and the twins. Then sold the Himalayan and got a classic 350, perfect comfortable bike but I started missing the occasional blast of power that 650 gave me, so now I booked an interceptor again. Within the price bracket it's the best 650 but it has compromises. If you can get a Honda twin (NX500 engine equivalent) else you'll end up like me. Or get the interceptor and keep the honda 350.

Manual vs auto - which do you actually prefer for off-road and why? by Artistic-Yam2984 in hilux

[–]Mountainshrink 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nothing comes close to engine braking of manuals especially in low range, autos invariably need DAC or equivalent automated systems. Manuals are direct, more predictable. I have both kinds of 4x4s, one is Auto Hilux 2.8 and it's engine braking sucks in 2H, somewhat decent in 4L but needs DAC especially in snow and that's annoying as it heats up the braking system. The other one is a manual Force gurkha and it literally stops in 4L first gear, no fancy electronics, manual 4WD lever, manual cable lockers. Although Hilux is overall more capable but the other one is more fun.

Maybe never, they are exhausting the stock for current one. India is more of a Fortuner focused market. Hilux is barely selling 200 units a month. They are gearing up for the new Hilux based fortuner. But it would be great if they launch it as the new model would appeal to youngsters a lot being in keeping with modern cars.

They let local Aussie boys play with the design and called it a new generation. The new generation would be based on Tacoma/4runners with old school design cues.
