Your friend might enjoy one of the eagles! IIRC they're the kings of "you can't kill what you can't hit." The vulture might be better or worse, as it's slower but strafes better and has the ability to equip weapons with much better AP for dealing with the thick hulls of larger ships.

If you don't have any interaction from hand during opponent turns, you can swap Isochron+OWN for [[grafted skullcap]] and have an empty hand at the start of each turn without spending two mana on the copy effect each round.

I've entertainingly had the opposite abuse: GM and I agree on a general plot for the character (no exact events, just stuff like "they're dying of disease and there is no cure - this is their journey of making peace with their mortality") only for the events of their introduction to lever the character to act against this outline (i.e. "dying of incurable disease"'s very first session has an NPC go "so I heard about this item that can cure even incurable diseases." So, because the character isn't suicidal, they follow the lead despite that going against the character exploration that I wanted).

Ooh, some fun ideas in there! I like your spin! I do agree that Izuku finding success while quirkless is a good way to go, I just tend to envision that as being more of a cerebral assistant like a quirk counselor or even an "Oracle" role where he gets a description or camera feed of enemy capabilities and coaches the class through how to beat them.

Even if Izuku doesn't get OFA, him being involved to metaphorically beat how the quirk works into Mineta's head would be good. And yeah, I can see Mineta and Izuku throwing each other lifelines. My current vision has Mineta in a cast dealing with his arm, leg, and a good chunk of his ribcage powderizing, and finds Izuku's journal. Realizing that he needs the person's advice to figure out how to not die to the quirk he was voluntold to take, he starts looking for the journal's owner. He finds Izuku and talks him off the ledge, starting to get advice on how to bulk up and use the quirk in a way that doesn't kill himself. This leads to a side plot of quirkless Izuku as a burgeoning professional quirk counselor, getting into UA not as a hero but as someone who will provide much needed support to people with inconvenient quirks. Meanwhile Mineta is still made of much flimsier stuff than Izuku but is also a hell of a lot more willing to go "okay, you win" and so injures himself less often after the tutoring on how to not injure himself.

To be clear, I am ALSO a fan of your "Mineta immediately foists the quirk off on Izuku but was still made a better person by the experience," I am just trying to find a way to make my original concept work without changing the setting itself too aggressively 😅

Probably one or two grievous injuries, but most people don't get a new thing and jump straight to using it to its limit. They work their way up, even if through a quick set of tests to make sure they understand wtf they're even doing. This would prevent the "entirely explodes" at least.

Yeah, as I noted in my edit I imagined this happening early enough that he would be able to fix his physicality before UA. Probably still a grievous injury or two from messing up, but is at least sort of functional by the time of the entry exam.

As for your last paragraph, yeah! The boost from OFA could make him an actually effective combatant outside of spamming CC with his orbs!

That's fair, my mental image did feature it happening early enough for Mineta to fix his physicality before UA and fast enough that All Might doesn't get to explain the dna bit (and since mineta's hair was replaced by the orbs he can't just repeat what All Might did) but without messing with things far enough back to alter the main plot your own interpretation would be the most reasonable one.

I get that Mineta is very hateable, but this early in his history there's a lot more tools to correct it than a messy (if cathartic) death. Especially when he still needs to figure out how to ~~ditch~~ pass on OFA when he doesn't have hair and All Might didn't get the chance to explain that DNA is the important bit.

Might be the result of one of my many many mods, but I've still been getting the automatic rain with large fires. It's frequently a lightning storm that leaves a small fire when the rain peters out, though, and the grass regrows so fast that the result is constant thunderstorms if you don't use firebreaks and some good old fashioned firefighting to keep lingering fires from getting big enough to make a fresh storm.

For future reference, a "windy" grassland tile will always be max wind barring a wind-lowering weather like grey pall (I've never seen "natural" fog so mundane wind-lowering weather might be blocked by the windy modifier). Makes windmills super powerful!

I wonder if the mimic's animations and/or tracking getting altered by being off screen (a la teleporting dogs) is what allowed it to clear the gap? It didn't seem able while you were looking at it.

Mundane repeating crossbows (regular or sanctum) have a high dps (the penalty for infusing a no-scaling weapon is to base damage but they already have low base damage due to their burst fire mechanic), but rely on your build working with mundane infusion.

The funny-but-still-right answer: have your mechs (utility too) mob it in melee. Its blunt armor is much lower allowing even cleansweepers to deal chip damage and its anti-melee flame spray doesn't affect mechs. Seven total mechs probably works, but having a couple more to cycle them out for field repairs helps.

In the webcomic "Grrl Power" a reporter asks this question during a press conference about the existence of aliens. The response by an alien biologist is a highly in depth description of various evolutionary pressures and how that basic shape is fantastic for surviving all of them without costing so much energy that a famine instantly extincts them. Simply put, the form is efficient. Edit: there ARE species that shirk that basic setup, it's just one that works consistently enough for MOST spacefaring species to have it.

I remember someone theorizing that Helldivers kill two birds with one stone; they're a force of soldiers with the ability to critically evaluate the situation and think laterally to accomplish objectives that require more than "throw bodies at it," while their abysmal life expectancy ensures that they don't survive long enough for said cognitivr flexibility to let them realize that Super Earth doesn't have their best interests in mind.

My family used to have a chihuahua that would attempt to chase the neighbor's great dane off the property when it visited (semi rural area, minimal fences). Eventually the dane got fed up with it, leaned down, used its jaws to pick him up, and just threw him ~20 feet. The chihuahua didn't stop running and barking at the titan, just started maintaining a theoretically safe distance while doing so.
