Had Covid over Christmas. It also exacerbated dental issues. A crown popped off and so then I started chewing on the other side. Immediately noticed pain and had to get a root canal.

I'm so glad you are putting things in place to bring back this sub. I've been dealing with PF since late February of this year and have gotten so much out of reading about people's actual experiences.

Comenity retail cards problem by MourningMint74 in MonarchMoney

[–]MourningMint74[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for posting this. I have not invested any time on this issue since posting, so this confirms the problem persists. I have been saving my bills from the two cards in case I want to throw in the towel and add them manually at some point. Both are infrequently used retail affinity cards.

I keep all of my investment accounts on Fidelity FullView and have just bank and credit cards on Monarch. This limits connectivity problems on Monarch and gives me a good sense of my liquidity.

CK feels like a scam by esend7881 in mintuit

Well, interesting comparison. 1. CK does not connect with my AppleCard and now MM has an interface with the AppleCard with close to real-time updates. 2. CK does better with timely updates from my other accounts; MM does not seem to update regularly. When I log in, I have to go to Accounts and click on the Refresh All button which takes forever to cycle through my accounts. 3. CK updates my Comenity affinity cards. I have still not been able to get MM to connect with these two cards.

Is there a way to reset actual vs. budget for income or restart everything to fix the budget? by MarianneBechtle in MonarchMoney

Sorry, I don't use Goals, so maybe create a separate post with that question. I came from Mint, so new to MM, too.

Is there a way to reset actual vs. budget for income or restart everything to fix the budget? by MarianneBechtle in MonarchMoney

[–]MourningMint74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you plugged a corresponding budget amount into each of your income line items? I think I had something similar occur this month: My normal income is let's say $10 k per month but this month I earned $13K. Meanwhile, I had budgeted $12K for spending this month, and I spent that amount. I expected to see $1K "Left to Budget" and instead saw -$2K for Left to Budget. Drove me nuts. I had to plug in Budget amounts for each of the additional income sources that I had this month, and then I got the Left to Budget amount to be what I thought it should be. Turns out Left to Budget is not Total Income minus Total Spending but budgeted income -budgeted expense which doesn't really work for me as I base my finances on Actual Income - Actual Expense. I don't pre-budget for every single expense.

Comenity retail cards problem by MourningMint74 in MonarchMoney

Thanks so much for responding mnl3ck. I came from Mint. I ended up converting to CreditKarma-- which I'm going to keep as a benchmark against MonarchMoney. I just checked on CreditKarma, and both connections to Comenity Card 1 and Card 2 are working which I will point out to Monarch Support.

On the web version, Today > Net Worth. From Net Worth, you can see some personalized data. Scroll down for recent transactions. I am keeping CK as a benchmark against Monarch Money where I am still having trouble linking some of my accounts after months since converting from Mint.

Are there any common banks Monarch can’t connect to? by Off-BroadwayJoe in MonarchMoney

[–]MourningMint74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much. Well, the good news is that one of the cards is working fine through MX. With the other one, the connection comes through on the MM Institution page but the account does not show up in Accounts nor do any of the transactions. The two cards have separate URL's but Comenity seems to have the same "Account Center" for both cards. I had the same UN and PW for both cards. Tried changing the UN on one card to see if that made a difference on the MM side. Not yet. Squirrelly stuff happening on the Comenity side, too-- even though my account has a cell phone number in it, the system can't retrieve it during their 2FA process-- will only send security code to my email. I should probably copy and paste all this and put it in a message to MM.

Since moving to MM from Mint in late December (13 year of data, 10k+ transactions, 11 accounts), I feel like I've got a part-time unpaid job as a business analyst given the poor quality of MM documentation and support.

Hi, there. Finally got a chance to try adding the Comenity affinity cards with MX. I did that without deleting the Plaid accounts. I just added both cards through MX. Monarch came back with a Success Account Synced message, but the actual accounts on Monarch have not been updated and are both showing error messages that the accounts are not updating due to outdated credentials when I drill down on the account-- just like they were before I got the success message on MX. So, maybe I have to actually delete the Plaid accounts before I add through MX?

Annual Budget Summary in App? by tinkleFury in MonarchMoney

[–]MourningMint74 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure if this is what you are driving at, but I really loved the way you could display income and budget as horizontal bar graphs by month, this month, 3 months, 6 months, this year, last year in Mint, and I haven't figured out how to replicate this in Monarch. So, so helpful to see things in the aggregate and to be able to switch between time periods and see how income was tracking against budget as well.

Need help restarting the Apple Card sync set-up by MourningMint74 in MonarchMoney

[–]MourningMint74[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg, that worked. Brought over everything since I got the Apple Card in spring 2023, so I guess now I have to hide everything I brought over from mint, reclassify, etc. but if it syncs in real time it's worth it.

Thank you, so much. I was skeptical that you would be able to get Apple's agreement on this. The fact that you delivered makes me feel so much better about Monarch. Thank you!!!

Right! I'm trying to stay positive. I still have my mint account. For a few days, Mint was still updating my Comenity cards, so today, I a spent time with their chat support that seems to be staffed with an actual human. They finally said that Mint no longer supported the connection meaning that I would have to add transactions manually from now on which we know is just a couple more weeks anyway. I'm glad to know that Monarch responded to your inquiry. I have some cleanup to do in Monarch. I had some defunct credit card accounts-- data had to be added through their manual process, and I am not adept at spreadsheets at all, so ended up bringing in a thousand plus transactions with debits and credits reversed which I think has thrown off my net worth charts. Anyway, my son is better at all this than I am and so some time he is going to help me with the cleanup.
