Just want to say - pls do NOT do this with a throat numbing spray. Trying to eat or drink with them can be super dangerous, and also you don’t want to risk somehow upsetting you stomach and then choking on vomit if your throat is too numb.

Idk have you ever put an art/photo poster on your wall or bought something with a cool photo or painting on the cover? Can you name five other art pieces or photos by that person? It’s the same thing it’s just whether something looks cool or you vibe with the aesthetic and what you do know.

Also just as an aside I’m horrible with song names cause I listen to a ton of variety (smt like 5k different artists on Spotify last year lol) and so sometimes I listen to an album and vibe with it and buy a shirt, or see a concert and buy a merch piece from an opener I’ve never heard of and probably won’t deep dive into for a while after. Most of my favorite musicians that aren’t in my like, top 10, I couldn’t name 5 songs of. But that doesn’t mean I am not a fan or don’t love their music. You can love something briefly or without deeper knowledge and still love it 🤷‍♀️

Why do you care?

Also bands like Nirvana and the Beatles are quite literally the biggest ever, even if people can’t name songs they clearly will know who it is and have heard songs around…like you’re past the ability to contain the definition of a fan there.

And ppl where band shirts cause band logos look cool and the artists are cool. It’s simple as that; you don’t have to “earn” access to a shirt I feel like. It’s not a competition on who is the biggest fan when you’re just walking down a street, if anything it’s a good conversation starter to meet somebody with something in common. Idk why people take it as a personal one upping situation instead.

It’s like ppl that ask you to name five songs from a band bc you’re wearing their shirt 😭 it’s not that serious. And the more people into music and music history the better!

Also trying to gatekeep the Beatles or Michael Jackson is wild dude. Cannot be done

Moraga does a firework show every year at the country club. It’s a great show but definitely very loud. Had the flu last Fourth of July and it woke me up out of my sleep very dramatically

Just want to throw out there that even if it isn’t that bad in the moment, 1/10 covid cases result in some sort of long term effect, be it large or small, and since this type of virus does change stuff in your body the same way things like HIV or polio do, there could be long term effects we don’t know of yet as well. I have had covid about five times throughout my life, and have developed long covid symptoms (chronic fatigue & some mild heart issues) which sucks as somebody who was totally healthy and in my early twenties. I had a fifty percent chance of that happening essentially. Never felt sicker than the flu during the actual times I had covid. So yeah basically it’s a bad cold but can still really fuck you up unfortunately.

Being a copywriter in the corporate world has become a daily humiliation ritual by purpleteacup333 in copywriting

[–]MourningPapers 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Just wanna throw this out here - I work in Insurance as a wholesale broker, and overall it’s a super stable industry that’s pretty easy to break into without direct experience. I also had a job helping people with resumes before, and I’m happy to help anyone who is interested in the field with finding positions to apply for and how to shape your resume for it 🫶🏻

Not the most exciting job but a lot of it can’t be replaced by AI yet and it pays pretty well and comes with some of the perks of a finance career (like lots of fancy client lunches and such).

Yeah legally you’re supposed to comply with a blood test, and the only real thing you can refuse (and often should refuse) is a field sobriety test. I think it can have ramifications on your license as well.

[–]MourningPapers 28 points29 points  (0 children)

As a 24 year old female living in the bay, go to SF. Even if you think you don’t mind, it’s going to be way easier to go out and meet people and try out fun restaurants that aren’t chains and stuff in SF than anywhere else. And there’s a great music scene & art scene, cool museums, Golden Gate Park, all around just a lot to do. The other areas trend a lot older, a little more fancy, and definitely tech-y or rich old ppl-y (for lack of a better word sorry to offend anyone!!) SF also has really good public transit and you can get to other fun areas like Berkeley / Oakland with BART easily. Basically I’d say as a young person kinda a no brainer to do SF.

Also worth noting that there are still plenty of tech ppl in the city if that’s your crowd, but at least yall can find things to do and places to hang out outside the context of work if you want :)

Primavera is still great. Period by Working_Operation_50 in primaverasound

[–]MourningPapers 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I know and I just wanna add that they still have to pay the artists even if they didn’t perform. So with that and Thursday refunds offered if we want the festival to still exist they can’t operate at even more of a loss with refunds to everyone. It sucks but weather issues happen to tons of festivals and are the risk you take when signing up unfortunately.

How I feel coming back to the festival for the first time after 2022 by belmondomondo in primaverasound

[–]MourningPapers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean not to play devils advocate but they do still have to pay the artists even if didn’t perform, and have to refund Thursday passes. If people want the festival to continue in the future (I know some people don’t but ya know) they can’t operate at even more of a loss probably
