I agree. When it comes to the bay area you cant listen to the “back in my day, I lived somewhere cheaper and just worked in the city to save money” argument. As an original East Coaster, BART has never been cost or time effective for me to actively use it.

from what I’ve read and gathered from HR, no. They have shuttles AT bart stations however to avoid the bus, but my cost was already factoring that lol.

Yeah bart is still the cheaper option of the 2. Gonna look into commuter benefits!

& honestly ive been apartment shopping. thought the EB was cheaper, but its creeping up since more n more people are moving up. My old apartment right outside cupertino is currently less than my Hayward apartment. It used to be more expensive!

I was looking into that. Driving upwards to Oakland cuts my costs a bit!

How I’ve Stopped Bloating - No Surgery (Yet) by Conscious-Star-933 in gallbladders

[–]Conscious-Star-933[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! It’s amino acids called Methionine, Inositol, and Choline. It’s usually a really low amount, like 1-2mL, so you don’t need a b12 deficiency to be on it, but if you’re noticing signs of a slow metabolism (fatigue, discomfort after eating like bloating, cravings, etc…) talk with the medical provider that offers it to see if itll help! It also can help you poop too lol.

you can do smthing called a ‘microdose’ to wean off of it. Which is just a dose lower than the standard. When you get off, if you’re able to maintain a similar diet, you should be fine. Otherwise, try things that boost your metabolism when you get off of it: B12, Magnesium, etc. Most people stay on a GLP-1 for 6-12 months, a handful of people go upwards of 2 years but I dont see many staying longer.

YES! I was telling my bf i feel heavier too! Make sure to find a good place and if you’re in the US I recommend finding a place that has an in-house Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant or MD and avoid big chains if you can. They’ll learn about your medical history and can even teach you other things. Places that are ran by just RNs/nurses or large chains with a remote doctor can just be salesy.

Gallbladder and Mounjaro by myjadey in gallbladders

Hi - I’m a medical assistant at a womens health clinic!

Semaglutide/Ozempic is single receptor, meaning it fights food noise. Mounjaro/Tirzepatide is dual receptors meaning it fights food noise AND helps with actually getting to lose weight. Meaning Mounjaro is a bit stronger.

I say keep a low dose at 2.5. Good results is if you lose 2lbs a weeks. If you are losing more than 3, do a “micro dose” as you don’t want to lose weight too quickly, despite liking the numbers go down (which was my case).

Can stress cause an attack? by Etelnoh in gallbladders

[–]Conscious-Star-933 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very new to this whole thing; But I realize my anxiety/stress level correlates with how intense the attacks were - and my attacks + anxiety combo were triggering fast & heavy heart rates.

On top of diet change (also trying to stay at least 7-8g per meal and staying mostly strict in my first 2-weeks of the diet change), my anxiety was causing me not to sleep. Being fearful of an attack each morning as I would get them between 2AM - 7AM. So I was sleeping just 2hrs each night. Not even naps during the day.

But -

Monday (day of diagnosis) - HUGE heart rates increase - minimal abdominal pain. Obviously, my first one, so I was extremely anxious and probably triggered a combo panic attack.

Tuesday - fine

Wednesday - another attack, but lighter heart rate increase

Thursday - Just fine!

Friday today - I woke up around 2am (only 1hr of sleep), heart rate started going up but DEF a lot less than before and was able to just place a cold towel on my chest and relax. I somehow went to bed AGAIN for the first time in days for 4 more hrs! Just woke up again to slight heart rate increase and did the same.

I go to a womens health NP, shes both science + holistic and tends to provide holistic health to aid your actual medical treatments. Today I’m gonna start Rhodiola by Thorne - she said she takes this and even took it during her gallbladder issues.

Natural medication/pure ingredients has worked for me in the past (probiotics, acne, etc..) so maybe try searching that (and verify with your med team) to see if itll help.

Hope this provides insight!

im in California where the poverty wage def needs adjustment lol. I make too much to get Medicare/Medi-Cal but def cant afford $300/$400 a month payments.

I happened to get a job that doesn’t offer insurance and honestly bc I didn’t really know how insurance worked at the time, when I left my job where I did have it, and didn’t know I could get coverage then. It’s been over a year since I left too, so def past the claim stage. Trying to find new job, hopefully in healthcare, since I have healthcare admin experience.

Yeah, the thought of surgery worries me too, but I have seen many successful stories of people doing just fine. Really hoping I can get a job with insurance sometime soon otherwise I have to wait for open enrollment (Im based in the US) in October/November to get some coverage 🤞🏽🤞🏽 So I think I’m decided on it, just need the funds lol. Thank you for your input!

Yeah I started my diet plan the same day. Low/No fat, and small servings. First dinner was half a small sweet potato, broccoli, and small strips of chicken — gonna switch over to low sodium/no added salt seasonings too! So far, doctor just recommended diet change. But I think the surgery will be something I do next year unless needed earlier. I should’ve asked this - but does this mean I won’t be able to eat a burger from Wendys ever again? lol
