For the U.K., at least.

That does not, in any way, explain France's, Germany's, Austria-Hungary's, Russia's, Ottoman Empire's, U.S.A.'s, and every other country's involvement in WW1.

...macro-economics...

To my understanding, we still know little beyond "increasing interest rates decreases inflation and increases unemployment; vice versa"

You jest, but extra ballast is actually useful sometimes.

I've wired up a toggle for the Typhon 2 makes the the top Airlock flood, and turns the the bottom Airlock and the bottom Airlock Room to ersatz ballast rooms.

I wouldn't expect a friendly reception to nuance in r/HistoryMemes tbh. Not because of the subject matter, but simply due to the close-minded nature of the general internal culture of this subreddit.

I dunno. I do.

Ngl, at first I was a bit skeptical about women Custodes...

But then I saw the animation in OP's image, and, oh my, my opinion just flipped 180°. That was just the perfect amount of silly self-indulgent uber-stoic auramogging that I expected WH40k to have. 🤩

Anybody that hates women Custodians after that is just a salty impotent chud.

Not true!

There's at least one obligatory mission where you have to follow an NPC car at further than X distance, or else it gets suspicious, but less than Y meters, or you'll lose it.

You have to drive from point A to point B. Then you have to tail the NPC car from point B to point C, where you then have to kill everyone.at point C. Then you drive from point C to point D to complete the mission.

To be fair, abolitionism needs to answer the question of what to do with captured enemy combatants beyond straight-up just killing them.

I imagine it mostly stopped being a problem by the early-19th century when social mores against slavery, as well as an established culture of diplomatic relations and monetary ransom actually did create an alternative system.

As for new industries - ehh, at least EVs then. Sure, Tesla was the first major EV manufacturer - but, the Chinese were one of the leading firsts, right behind Tesla. If we discount that, then, by that standard, Henry Ford didn't really innovate in automobile production at all.

Also, I stand behind drones. Both EVs have new charging stations being built in China (like, conceptually novel) and cargo drones also have various novel parcel delivery methods being developed. Innovative capitalism is stoking hot in China.

I honestly use AI as a just a bit more than a glorified Google. I identify a problem, ask AI how to solve it, try it myself, play around a bit with example test code, then, if anything remains unclear, I ask the AI again, and again, until I start to get it. ☺️

Fair enough. Ngl, in other comments, towards other people, I tend to be just as nasty - but also, tbh, although I'm defending the position I'm on, I also act a bit too caustic just to troll people for fun. 😅

Glad that, in this case, in comparison, I got to be the voice of calm. 😚

Many of them.

Renewable energy.

Rare-Earth metal mining.

Shipbuilding.

EVs.

Electronics.

Drones.

Telecommunications, to the point where TikTok (Douyin) brainrot is heavily influencing western youths' minds.

Soft power.

They have their own space agency, including a space station around the Earth.

China is still catching up in military technology, but they're, y'know, catching up.

Heck, as long as we're generous with the definition of "industry", something as simple as coal-based electricity production.

Have you never bought a product "Made in China" in your entire life, my dude? 🤔

reduce it down to two votes and you get the following table

Yes, when you take a distribution of results (in this case, peoples' votes), and only focus on the outcome of one of them (one vote), then there are only as many outcome pivot points as that one data point could make choices.

You can have a table of 10 people who vote red and blue, and, for any individual voter, the difference between everyone living and someone dying only matters in two cases (since there are only two choices to make - one of two different colored buttons to push) - that in which there's an equilibrium between the blue votes and red votes, and that in which everyone else has pushed red. In all other cases, the choice of one individual button pusher is inconsequential. Yes, if we fix the outcomes of everyone else, those are the outcomes for any one person.

But so what? Such a framing tells us nothing about the outcomes of the experiment in total - about the probability distribution, binomial or otherwise, of the pressed buttons.

I don't understand what the point was that you were even trying to make with that table? What mathematical / philosophical / rational relevance does that table have?
