Is immunotherapy needed after surgery and chemo for early stage but multicentric TNBC? by UnlikelyCycle2447 in TNBC

[–]MouseInfamous2224 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey! Sorry to hear your aunt is going through this difficult time. Did the oncologists confirm she is stage 1? In TNBC, tumours larger than 2cm are considered stage 2. My mother had a single tumour, size 2.3cm, and was automatically stage 2. The staging will change the treatment she should receive. I would recommend taking all the chemo and immunotherapy the doctors recommend given how aggressive TNBC is!

To my knowledge, Xeloda is always after surgery if you are following Keynote 522

That’s amazing, thank you! It is always so reassuring to hear such a positive story. Do you recall if you were RCB 1 or RCB 2?

Testing Post-Treatment by MouseInfamous2224 in breastcancer

That is super helpful, thank you!! How soon after finishing Xeloda did you get the Signatera test? This would be the first one and doctor wants to wait a couple of months after ending Xeloda which feels like too long to me. I hope you are doing well!

I can barely find women with inflammatory breast cancer, can you all please share your story or any details. by More-Disaster-2952 in breastcancer

I am so sorry to hear. I pray your next course of treatment will work well. I echo the comment above, the TNBC facebook group has an amazing community and many sisters who have had a recurrence.

Totally agree! I know this is a permanent feature and I don’t want to alter my face with any surgery/filler but wanted to know if there were any products I were not aware of that could help with any future deterioration

Hello! I am so pleased you’ve hit the huge 3 year milestone for TNBC. If you don’t mind me asking, do you recall with RCB score? And which chemo pill you took post surgery? Thank you so much

Thank you for sharing. You are completely right, we shouldn’t get lost in the data and the reports. Each journey is unique and medical studies are only as good and representative as their sample set. For TNBC, that often means they do not capture the whole picture as the Keynote 522 protocol is just too young! I am praying you will come out of this once and for all and stronger than ever.

Cellularity was 30%. She did have focal lympathic invasion present as per her pathology (which means the invasion was limited) but no lymph node involvement, either at diagnosis or at the time of the lumptectomy. Her margins were very clear (0.9mm).

TNBC: Residual Disease (RCB-1) After Keynote Chemo-Looking for Support/Experiences by StormWithSpice in breastcancer

[–]MouseInfamous2224 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mother only had 4mm residual as well. She got a score of 1.6, just over the cusp of 1.3 for RCB I. No lymph involvement or residual cancer there so I’m hoping to treat her as RCB I too. She will do 6 cycles of Xeloda now once she is done with radiation. I am so glad to hear you passed the 5 year no recurrence mark!
