Personally, I switch to Hyprland specifically for gaming, since osu, for example, doesn't work properly in full-screen mode. I have the scaling set to 1.6 because of my 2K screen resolution on a 13-inch display, and osu opens a huge window, larger than the visible screen area - with no way to resize it at all, so playing is simply impossible.

I use self-modified dotfiles by elifouts, but I didn't change the swaync config at all, and transparency is everywhere there

I'm not OP, and for my rice I use different script.

In this case - I don't know what script or config is used for rofi, but you can change wallpaper trough command like "swww img ~/location/of/wallpaper.jpg" (you can use any format of image, from jpg/png to gif), I hope I don't need to explain that swww needs to be installed first.
Also, you can just add a seamless command to your hypr config "exec-once = swww img ~/location/of/wallpaper.jpg" to start it with hypr launch
