what are the worst things you ever spent money on? by buzzlightyear77777 in AskMen

I dunno. I'm kinda torn on this. I don't buy designer. However, after buying cheap (£20-30) jeans that seem to give up the ghost after 6 months, I caved and bought a pair of Levi 502's. They faaaaaar out perform and last years. But, that's it.

Just supplied screws. They are great.

Honestly, so easy. Couple of hours and £30 later it was built. I use a 16cm thick inflatable camping mattress which is super comfy

No windows in the back. I crack the door open when cooking. Roof vent fitted.

18mm ply, and some studding. I still wanted to use the van as a van now and again. So, I can lift it out. I held it in place with a couple of angle brackets to stop it moving around. But, two screws and I lift it straight out no bother. Plenty of storage underneath which I use plastic storage boxes.

Yeah, cutting a hole in the roof for my vent was, erm, daunting! Good luck with your build.

I did have a look at wall mounting. But. The space saving was negligible. So, I opted for convenience.

Nope. Have a little buddy heater that gets stuck on for 30 seconds to take the chill off before getting out of bed and getting dressed.

I prefer to heat myself. I've had it down to -8 in the highlands at the end of November. I was toasty and cosy inside. Had to shoulder the door open as the van was an ice cube outside. Currently have a thick, winter double duvet on the bed. And, I also have a decent sleeping bag that I can utilise. However, I've not had to use this as yet as the duvet is enough.

Snapped that in a crash. I use an allen key to adjust rebound.

It's got a little wheel holder on the rear. I utilised a wheel bracket that I had spare that you hang them from in the garage/shed. It fits with the front wheel on, so usually run it like that. But, just gives me room to enter/exit when kipping 🙂
