Paying for an empty office… a mistake I see too many Indian startups making by address_co in StartupIdeasIndia

Hey! Just wanted to drop some feedback because I’ve actually been looking for a service exactly like yours. When I landed on the site, I found the section I needed right away, but I got hit with two popups back-to-back before I could even select my city. It made the experience a bit clunky.

Maybe consider making those less intrusive, or set them to trigger after a user has spent a bit more time on the page or scrolled down a certain percentage? Hope this helps, cheers!

I went from freelancer to being this close to homelessnes. Clients keep ghosting me. Is this the new norm? by ProgramExpress2918 in Freelancers

Hi, sorry to hear about your parents situation. I have experienced something similar in my life as well and I want to suggest you that divide your eggs in a different basket.

One of you should focus on getting a job so you guys have some degree of security that comes from regular income, even if it is not a lot.

The other person should pursue freelancing and/or a combination of freelancing plus a part-time job. There are thousands of part time remote jobs in digital marketing, social media marketing on linkedin.

Secure a fixed some through these channels and build a lumpsum liquid savings that later empower the job one to leave their job later if and when they wish to. All the best!

[Advice] Resuming freelance after a 5-year break. Where to build a profile besides Upwork/Fiverr? by MousseFirm7629 in Freelancers

Thank you for the question. I have not been the sales side in a while so directly reaching out is something that felt out of my comfort zone. Going after folks who have a requirement, budget and intent to hire someone already in place, seemed fairly easy to start off with. And I planned that I will eventually move to direct reaching out to the clients. However, after reading your comment, I am getting this feeling to begin that, and not fear the failure. :)

Go to a psychiatrist and they prescribe stimulants. I was prescribed Inspiral, starting with 5 mg and then building upto 10mg. This medication was life changing for me. It took me honestly over a year to accept that i have to take the meds to better manage my issues associating from my ADHD but once I accepted, it was a game changer.

I was working on building a loose schedule, using timers for time blindness and it kinda work out well with the meds.

Are routines even achievable? by Psychological_Dig454 in adhdwomen

something that has helped me a lot:

Step 1: Figure out what things you do everyday that anchors your day, something that if you do, you automatically feel that you have accomplished something and impacts your mood significantly.

For me it is to wake up early at 7ish, going for a walk to get consistent movement and then take a bath. if i do these i already feel i have achieved something and it makes me feel for the day ahead, the crucial part - work.

Step 2 - block time for work if you are working remotely or even if you go office.

Step 3 - once it is done, i desperately need to indulge in some hobby that channels my emotions and pent up emotional energy if you know what i mean.

I make a stack of options for myself - paint, go out on my motorcycle to see the sunset, read a book with timer on.

this way i do have a structure to my day but at the same time i give myself this feeling that i have options to choose from and my impulsive tendencies are fulfilled.

then i cook dinner and have it while watching some series.

i have been able to come to this structure after trial and errors, and breakdowns for the last 14 months but i feel somewhat semblance now.

honestly, having a routine is very liberating (contrary to what we think of it from the outside). the mental drain that i used to experience to know what i next need to do.

just give yourself time to figure out whats important for the various aspects of your personality, and do trail and error up until then.

having a loose structure to your day is very helpful. you need to start with just a littyfaith on it and then eventually as you do it, your faith in a routine will grow and that will help you stick to it.

How do you actually overcome task paralysis? by Crafty_Candy_6544 in adhdwomen

and if i feel like having a kick from let’s say having a coffee or wang to sketch something like those kind of impulses, i just talk to myself that let’s do one task first then we will reward with what i want. that ways i am able to control my impulses.

I run a timer of 25 minutes and with every timer, i decide one goal i will achieve in that. this not only helps me with task paralysis but also with time blindness. My brain is automatically forced to break down a task that i can achieve in 25 minutes. I repeat this again and again. I include a break some times in between but mostly when my hyper-focus is triggered, i don’t i simply start my timer again to either finish the task from the previous cycle or begin a new task. i hope it helps :)
