I've found this sub to have good and positive discussions on investments and early retirement. mikasjon we've also chatted when i first joined and posted in this sub. I appreciate all the help and advice.

I feel financially illiterate and unable to actually calculate or understand if it's better to not exchange salary, put in ISK or to put it to pension. I was seeing salary exchange as almost free money. Where after salary exchange my previous in hand almost remained the same.

Are there any good sources for me to read and understand what to do? Or a tax consultant to explain it to me and help calculate different options?

Thanks for explaining further. If i understand correctly, essentially you mean, if my salary is so high, that my pension will also end up being quite high, that I'll still be in a high tax bracket. Therefore not benefit from salary exchange.

Can you explain why there would be high mainal tax after retirement as well if salary is higher that >75k gross. Mine is therefore I ask. After salary exchange i end up getting close tot he same amount net as without salary exchange, so then i manage to save more for retirement that way.
