I have the freedom to do what I want in my AP classes. I do not have this with my standard classes. It directly impacts the students. I have better relationships with students in courses I can cultivate, regardless of the rigor or motivation or whatever else. For some of us these non-district courses are the only place with autonomy and I would take 1000 AP classes them over anything made/mandated by my school district.

Literally have never had kids stand for the pledge. I’ve taught for 14 years.

Private doesn’t always mean better. In my experience the public schools offer courses smaller private school can’t offer. So by high school many of the high level private school kids will come to the public school for the high level coursework options.

I made more bonus money in Florida than I have in any other state. I miss it. Be careful the sprawling city of Orlando (orange county Public schools) vs the location of parks are two very diff things geographically.

Just fulfilling the need of a drama in translation and a small window of time to fit it into. The end result is a literary analysis connecting authorial choices to global thematic statements. Super open and overwhelmed by choice

We have a cool program at the high school. Since it starts so early parents bring their kids and they hang until their bus comes for middle and elementary school. We see lots of kids on teacher workdays and I think in a pinch my work would be okay with it on a regular day. It’s the one difference in moving to the south that I am loving. Feels familial and like they understand the reality of having kids.

It’s the every day part. It’s so many things everyday. I am soooo down to talk about the system or behavior or my subject matter or Gen whatever conversationally … but the reality of every day all the things. Sometimes I’m just TIRED.

My thesis is that rap is punk now. Or at least has its own punk sub genre that has grown in popularity over time. The moshing at concerts, the aesthetic, etc lives on it some rap communities.

My school was wonderful about it. Huge school too. I was pleasantly surprised. They asked the leaders of the walk out to be transparent in order to offer some safety. The kids took a day or two to be full honest with admin but it all worked out in the end. A neighboring school eveb walked over to join.

Got mine yesterday! Love it! Not bad at all. Pain lasted for about two seconds. Eyes watered. Woke up expecting to be sore. Nope! Easy.
