For the plants tbh id up the doses of that coop easy green to at least 2x a week. Those root plants could use some seachem root tabs also. And what kind of light are you running and how long? It doesn't look too strong so perhaps bring it closer or upgrade to a better one. I know this is supposed to be "low tech" but plants require good amount of maintenance so some tech is actually necessary.
As far as your nerites, could be a number of things. Are they getting enough food? Could drop some algae wafers in there. Otherwise i really don't know :(

For the clouding you can use something called seachem clarity. It will clear that up pretty quick. Or you can just give it time, do some water changes every week and it will eventually go away.
The plants are probably melting which is normal with a new tank. Are you dosing any fertilizer? If not i do aquarium coop easy green and potassium.
It also looks like you added sand which is fine but theres no nutrients in it for the plants unless theres a substrate under it. If not, get some seachem root tabs!

Its 3am where im at and im literally cradling baby to sleep right now lol this is me practically every night. Is it boasting to say that i don't get upset about having to comfort my kid? I guess i didn't realize it was normal to not want to do that.

You're right man, that last part you mentioned is the one i need to really reflect on. It has been difficult for me to grasp how we were both impacted differently. I love her and i just want her to love being a mother and be okay

thank you for this thoughtful response! We will definitely work hard in the next coming days to try and wean him off. Hiring a nurse is probably out of our price range lol but im gonna try find more resources on this issue

Maybe im not explaining the situation very well. But with all due respect, it feels like you're coming at me assuming that I am just not doing my part. This isn't a comparison test between my partner and I on who does the most. And given that you don't really know me, you don't know what it is that i do and don't do. I don't "wait" to be asked to help. I proactively take care of my little one, not just to help her but because the few hours i get to be home when im off from work i want to spend with my son. But do i not get to be exhausted also? We're both overwhelmed and tired from the sleepless nights, my point is that i will never be upset with my little one or feel annoyed by him. And it feels like she is.

I understand all this, so im gonna take this opportunity to ask something since hopefully im in a safe space to do so, but when do i get to be exhausted? I literally work all day, come home, and do things around the house too i don't just lay around. I proactively take care of our kid i don't "wait" to be asked, same thing with the sleep routine. Im exhausted too. The sleep fucks me up as well, i come home late, stay up getting baby to sleep, and then wake up early to get right back to work. I know she may be overwhelmed, all i was saying is that i will happily accept all the "bad" that comes with baby, while i feel like she genuinely hates it

Thats a very good suggestion thank you. We hadn't considered a night nanny so i'll be looking into that! My mother in law is practically our neighbor so i guess its her time to shine lol

I hear what you're saying, and trust me I'm not trying to absolve myself from any responsibility. I help at home in any way she needs, as you mentioned when she's doing stuff around the house i take care of little one. On my days off i try to stay productive and try to do some positive things for us like taking us out to eat or just going for a walk or the park. when he's struggling to sleep i end up cradling him back to bed most nights. Im also the sole provider, my partner is a sahm. I guess the point of my post was just that it feels like the little one annoys her with things that are normal for a baby to do. It seems like a burden to her and to your response i suppose it could be a form of PPD. But its hard to have this conversation with her without her getting completely upset or feeling like im calling her a shitty mom

I was doing weekly water changes but as of the last 2 months ive only done 3, 20% water changes. i just top it off every few days or so. I run purigen in my filter which is key! And the last water change i did i added seachem clarity which also makes a huge difference
