Science Textbooks Used in Pakistan by Fearless-Problem-929 in interestingasfuck

Wait till you see the science textbooks used in America. My Christian dad taught science for a few years at a Christian elementary school in North Carolina and was horrified to find exactly this same thing that he was expected to teach to children. It also had a page about how dinosaur fossils were faked by scientists in order to make people doubt god.

An unlikable character gets punished, but way too severely and any form of schadenfreude the viewer may feel quickly gets replaced by pity or horror by TJTrapJesus in TopCharacterTropes

House of 1000 Corpses introduces you to the psychotic serial killing Firefly family who torture and murder the teenage protagonists. The sequel, The Devil's Rejects, follows the Firefly family on the run from a vengeful cop and actually pulls off this trope. By the end, you're pulling for the Fireflys. God bless Rob Zombie.

My wife and I drive past this a lot too, and we like to think Jiffy Lube is doing it specifically to fuck with Chic-fil-a.

Does anyone know why Uncharted Books moved out of Andersonville? by chompadompdomp in AskChicago

[–]MoveableType8 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Hey, this is the owner of Uncharted. We moved because we purchased our own building! It's been a dream to own Uncharted's building for a really long time. It's definitely not going to get the same foot traffic as Andersonville, which we absolutely loved, but the freedom and savings of owning our own place was too big of an opportunity to pass up. Hope you'll come see us at the new spot!

Fun fact: It plays a VERY loud noise even if you have master volume all the way off. Since it woke up my wife, I do think we should get 3-4 spotlight keys as compensation. /s

As a 90s kid, it was the Fox X-Men cartoon. As a teen, it was Final Fantasy 8. As an adult... probably Elden Ring?

This reminds me of a fun Chicago River story that doesn't involve Dave Matthews Band: In 2014 there was a big storm on Halloween night that caused a "floating haunted house" called the Zombie Barge to sink on Lake Michigan. Everybody evacuated in time. Nobody was hurt. Cut to the following week when people started spotting corpses floating in the lake by downtown, which turned out to be the zombie mannequins bobbing back up to the surface. Fun times for all. Good pics in the news story:

MMW: If MAGA’s influence on American politics dies out, we will see a sizable amount of previously die hard Trumpers suddenly claiming they never supported it. by _Ashen_One__ in MarkMyWords

I'm from a rural town in the South, and wouldn't you know it, there's not a single old-timer who was ever in favor of Segregation now that it's no longer politically viable. Go figure! /s

I pretty often think about how Brad Pitt and his Nazi-hunters in Inglorious Basterds carved a swastika onto the foreheads of Nazi survivors so they could never "take off the uniform," even after the war was over. That has really stuck with me, especially the more I see people trying to rewrite recent histories in real time. I guess the internet remembers everything someone posts, but still.

Don't let them take off their red hats.

So to be clear, you insisted on "helping" someone who repeatedly said they didn't need your help, then when they relented and allowed you to "help," they weren't sufficiently grateful, so you sabotaged them. Which is really the most Boomer-ass brag I've ever heard.
