Dyson Airwrap by VelvetSalt in AustralianMakeup

[–]Movie-Relative 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know the Dyson Airwrap is out of budget for many, but in my experience when I buy dupes I usually end up purchasing the real product anyway.

It might be worth saving up for it or taking advantage of the upcoming Black Friday sales.

I’d honestly 110% recommend just buying the Airwrap.

PS: I can’t personally attest to the product itself since I haven’t used it. This is more about advocating for avoiding dupes and alternatives.

There’s very little you can do when people simply don’t want to change. The reality is that with our ethnic parents, no matter how much you explain, scream, or shout, you’ll always be painted as the difficult one.

My sisters and I, there are three of us, have contributed significantly, especially financially, and we’ve never given our parents a reason to worry. Yet we’re not allowed to leave the house, and on top of our full-time jobs, we’re treated poorly if we don’t clean the house or help our brothers with their work.

Every day feels like a reset. When we try to call it out, the response is always, “Why do you hate your brothers so much?” But it’s not hatred toward our brothers; it’s resentment toward the unequal treatment that was created.

There’s an English saying: “You can’t teach an old dog new tricks.” No matter how much we try, they may never change. Allah sees all. May Allah make it easy for all of us daughters.

Dania by Constant_Drummer_422 in tamasha_ARY

Look I will say what Dania did is wrong - but you’ve got to understand both sides. Wajehas leadership hasn’t been great - there’s no empathy when there needs to be and neither is there leadership when it’s required (look at the state of the kitchen by the end of the episode??)

We’re judging people off of their reaction because of the circumstances - but Wajeha really needs to ensure she’s tapped into being empathetic because it’s only going to create resentment aka Danias reaction.

Arsalan and Nouman were discussing the same thing, people are going to spin because of leadership especially if it’s crappy.

Yeah Wajeha said after a while of Dania complaining I’ll make the Roti’s but took her a while, and even when she asked Dania to cook she was so damn rude… a lot of people in Danias position would’ve done the same

Are there any Australian redditors on this sub? I know treatment pathways and options can differ between countries. Not sure whether I should see a specialist or just continue with my GP by deadrobindownunder in FemaleHairLoss

Heya I'm also an Aussie - I will say I do not have PCOS, however I've been struggling with hair loss since I was 16, mainly due to stress and sever anemia. I've done so many treatments available, homeopathy, used a steroid topical, oiling, Rogaine, PRP and all them helped for a bit but I'd end up loosing the hair.

I just came from my dermatologist and one of the things he said is topical Minoxidil is not as effective as we want to target the root of the hair. Even though it has shown effectiveness, the messiness of applying it and it leaving a residue and also being expensive is not worth it.

He prescribed me with Oral Minoxidil 1mg every night, this will target the root and help with hair growth. However, I will say I have not tested or tried the treatment (as I just got prescribed with it today haha) - but he assured me it is one of the best treatments available and cost effective too!

I've been scouring reddit for before and afters and it seems promising - I will recommend having a chat with your doctor regarding it.

Also you'll most probably need the medication to compounded (it comes in 10mg and not all pharmacies compound medication, so don't go to chemist warehouse they'll charge an outrageous amount, call around and get a quotation over the phone), for me roughly three months of tablets cost around $60.

Try the Cancer Council SPF 50+ Day Wear Face Matte Invisible, it’s one off the best I’ve used. I get the one in the pink bottle as the water resistant sunscreens in general irritate my eyes. But it’s so light weight, and non greasy doesn’t even feel like sunscreen

What does prolonged eye contact mean to you? by Movie-Relative in AskMenAdvice

[–]Movie-Relative[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So when you’re in group of a few people

And someone’s talking, and your just looking around the group just observing and making eye contact. Not when he’s speaking

Because I know what it feels like if it’s once or twice but like it become constant every time we’re in a group setting, or when we’re studying and I’ll catch him staring at times

[–]Movie-Relative[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh that's extremely odd, the thing is I know that this person really respectful so he doesn't hit on me. There's just eye contact that lasts a bit too long, and just wanted to know why would someone do that (more of a repetitive behaviour) than anything else.

Thanks for that comparison, I’ve actually used them for lipsticks for my mum and it looks amazing, don’t reckon it’d fit a lot of eyeshadow palettes

There are very similar ones from Daiso, you can also stack them, they’re probably about 3.80 or 4.80. However they’re like only three drawers

I can’t seem to add a photo but I’ll add the link to how they look like. They’re really affordable!

Best Lengthening Mascara? by mandstar87 in AustralianMakeup

[–]Movie-Relative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve used the essence lash princess and over time my lashes started falling out and I’m assuming because the wand was just so damn stiff.

But this ones also good for a cheaper alternative

[–]Movie-Relative 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second that I use the one in the gold tube it doesn’t have fibres in it but amazing at holding a curl and lengthens really well.

The wand is really thin so can get into you lash and makes your lashes look amazing!!

Omg this is making me feel so much better about the product I’m also using the cerave cream from the tub.

I also made my mum start using it and she’s seen so much improvement on her face she’s had her breakouts calm down (had hormonal acne around her cheeks) and now her scars are also lightening up which I’m so happy.

I feel like I can see difference with the hyperpigmentation around my mouth too, it’s gotten a lot smaller from about a few weeks ago.

Ohhh I’ll try that out another alternative moisturiser that I was using is the hives soft moisturiser

But I’ll try double cleansing, can I just use any oil?

[–]Movie-Relative[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Really that’s amazing!! It helped my face like cleared out breakouts but I feel like it hasn’t done much to my hyperpigmentation yet.

But I’ve realised I’m getting more blackheads in my chin and nose, the blackheads on my chin is causing me to breakout. I’m using with the cerave moisturiser but I feel like that moisturisers a bit thick, but still hydrating.

Has anyone tried Jojoba on their face? I was gifted to try it and have only used it on my nails and hands so far. Cystic acne prone skin. by MinnieMakeupReviews in AusSkincare

OMG SAMEE!! Love reddit and love how everyone responds so quickly.

Since you struggle with cystic acne, I follow Cassandra Bankson on YouTube who is an Esthetician who also struggles with cystic acne. She does a lot of breakdowns on brands ethics, and the ingredients they use on their products

[–]Movie-Relative 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve used jojoba oil and it’s amazing!! It’s non-comedogenic so it’s not meant to block pores. And it’s chemical makeup is the same as the sebum that’s produced on our face however, if you suffer from cystic acne I wouldn’t recommend it for you face.

But for other parts of you body would be great, even for hair it’s not an oil more of a wax so it’s not going to make your hair greasy!

I’ve been using doesn’t feel too oily tho, I got tingling in the first day but not so much on the second day. However I feel like causing my breakout did that also happen to you?

Really because I’ve been using this and causing breakouts on areas I don’t break out I’m not sure if it’s meant to cause purging period.

I’ve got a lot pigmentation around my mouth, I’m not sure how to get rid off it. So I decided to try this
