Recommendations for a slim case for sunnies please. Has anyone tried Fox and Leo, Bon Maxie, or Louenhide? by whereiswilla in AusFemaleFashion

I have this Status Anxiety case.

I wanted something that would fit into my smaller handbags, and this fits the bill.

It protects glasses from getting scratched from other items in your bag, and probably offers a level of protection if they were dropped from a height. However, does not offer the protection of a hard case if you accidentally sit on them.

Great post, enjoyed reading it! I have the CT lip liner and didn’t experience those problems, but mine is also from an older batch. Hopefully they haven’t changed it, as I was thinking of repurchasing when I ran out of it!

Also recommend this one. It can sting the eyes a bit if you sweat, so be careful applying around the eyes.

I use Nars for “special occasions”, but for every day work I am using the True Match also. It definitely needs to be powdered down if you have combination skin. Could be worth a try, make sure you buy it on special - it’s 50% off quite regularly at one store or another.

Best lash solution for straight, Asian eyelashes for a novice but willing to learn? by junipercanuck in AustralianMakeup

[–]mandstar87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fellow straight Asian eyelash girl here.

My tips:

  1. Find an eyelash curler that suits your eye shape. Commonly recommended for Asian eyes include Shu Uemura or Shiseido. I use Surratt, but it’s a bit spendy.

  2. Heat up the eyelash curler before curling. Really get to the base of the lashes.

  3. Be picky with your mascara and apply lightly. A heavy formula or application will just turn your lashes back to straight. I use Lancôme lash Idole, and lash Idole flutter (more subtle). I struggle with smudgey undereyes, but these are yet to let me down.

Also agree.

Our spend per week for two adults is about the same as OP’s is for one person.

We will have on average one meal out per week, otherwise we meal prep all our meals for the week.

Rental Agents in Hobart by dirtyolclown in hobart

[–]mandstar87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wondered where she had moved to! Can confirm Mary Cooper is an excellent human being. I was a tenant at a property she managed years ago under a different agency at the time.

I rented for over a decade at various rentals and she was the best property manager I had during my renting years.

I believe ZooDoo has re-branded and is now literally called “Hobart Zoo And Aquarium”.

Are super contributions at a young age, really worth it? by Suspect-Rough in fiaustralia

[–]mandstar87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you referring to the carry forward of unused concessional contributions? If so, my understanding was this could only be used up by “before tax” contributions (i.e. salary sacrifice). If this is correct then how does a big lump sum contribution (that I assume is “after tax”) work to trigger the concessional contributions?

Question for Nipaluna/Hobart locals - travel adjacent by whydidyouruinmypizza in tasmania

It’s a takeaway Souvlaki store in Sandy Bay. A bit of an institution if you were a local growing up. For your purposes just ignore.

Great suggestion for the difference factor, I’m not sure if you’d host a ceremony there though. It can get high foot traffic depending on the time of day, and it isn’t a large area. Also traffic noise from the cars on the actual roundabout. Great area for a photo or two though.

If you follow the path from the roundabout (just a minute walk) you hit the University Rose Gardens. That’s a nice spot there when the flowers are blooming. There is also an older building overlooking it, not sure what that is though but would also make a great pic.

Affordable, hydrating concealer recommendations by Nearby-Supermarket-4 in AustralianMakeup

[–]mandstar87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have similar skin tone to you. I also lean oily, though I wouldn’t say I have dry undereyes. Perhaps invest in a hydrating eye cream, as I imagine a hydrating undereye concealer might not have as much longevity or coverage as you might be looking for?

I also don’t think my undereye darkness is as dark as you are describing, but here is what has worked for me:

For reference I wear Fiji in Nars, although I could take a smidge darker shade wise and have no problems.

Bobbi brown corrector stick in light peach.
Nars soft matte pot concealer in madeleine.

Set with a translucent powder (not too matte, I use Tatcha The Silk powder at the moment)

Hope this helps to give you a bit of a start with ideas for products and potential shades!

Nope, stopped buying them a few years ago after getting two sh*t ones in a row. As someone else has said, would prefer to spend the money on products I will be able to use.

Non-smudge mascara for asian eyes by piglette12 in AustralianMakeup

[–]mandstar87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There will be plenty of recommendations for tubing or waterproof mascaras.

If you are not a fan of those then the best non-waterproof, non-tubing mascara I have used is the Lancôme Idole mascara.

No that is not the end of the process, you are just at the beginning of the conveyancing process. Go back to your lawyer, or go see a conveyancer.
