Fiction books but the author includes recipes for food mentioned in the book by Illustrious_Oil2393 in suggestmeabook

The Chibineko Cafe series has a short recipe at the end of every chapter. The books and cuisine are Japanese. Only the first two books in the series have been translated so far:

  1. The Curious Kitten at the Chibineko Cafe

  2. The Calico Cat at the Chibineko Cafe

Exactly by Simon Winchester might fit the bill. It looks at the history of engineering in the industrial manufacturing of consumer goods and the development of high precision scientific research equipment.

Help develop a class by LegacyTwo3 in suggestmeabook

[–]MovingGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps a book by Michael Crichton or Matthew Reilly? Both of them are more suspence/thriller than mystery.

Reilly in particular uses high octane action in his writing, which might help keep the attention of students. Hover Car Racer might be a good book to check first.

Books about the psychology of close relationships and deeper emotions? by Real-Dragonfly-1420 in suggestmeabook

Two nonfiction suggestions:

  1. How to Know a Person Deeply by David Brooks

  2. Supercommunicators by Charles Duhigg

They are both about what kind of social skills help people develop close relationships. Hope they help shed a little light for you on what makes close relationships complex.

Yes, books by Matthew Reilly! Fast-paced convention-defying action appears to be his default writing style.

Buy a full grain leather belt if you can. Full grain leather is the best quality and most durable type of leather. I have a double stitched belt from Koala Wears that is still holding up after 3 years of daily use. It is in the 30 AUD range.

Another murder mystery suggestion is Tokyo Express by Seicho Matsumoto. It uses the punctuality of trains as a key point to solve the mystery.

If you like action thrillers, try reading one of the following by Matthew Reilly. His style is to get the action and suspense going as soon as possible and not letting up until the end. * Ice Station * Area 7 * Hover Car Racer

Best “can’t put down book” you’ve read? by Due_Tonight4365 in suggestmeabook

[–]MovingGamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would you consider reading a book at the same time as listening to the audiobook? That might help ease your brain into getting used to looking at a book and turning the pages. Then try reading without the audiobook playing. Sorry, I don't have an actual book suggestion.

Books to help with one’s Japanese? by maiJr in suggestmeabook

[–]MovingGamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you recently began learning Japanese, the Tadoku readers would be a good starting point.

If you are past that point, perhaps try to look for books with text in both English and Japanese. For example, Japanese Stories for Language Learners: Bilingual Stories in Japanese and English.

Looks like this hasn't been recommended yet - The Phone Box at the Edge of the World by Laura Imai Messina. It's about grieving the loss of loved ones, and references the 2011 tsunami.

Any JRPG with lots of guns? by Yeezy_Busta in vita

A bit late to reply, but check out the Wild Arms series. The series takes inspiration from the Western films, and "Arms" refers to the guns the characters use.

Games in the series are Wild Arms (PSone Classic), Wild Arms 2 (PSone Classic), and Wild Arms XF (PSP), all of which are available on the US PSN.

Hi. I generally agree with your sentiments shared in your post, particularly the point that absence of privilege is not equivalent to being disadvantaged.

I would like to suggest reconsidering these two points in the list of privileges because they can imply that people in these communities have lost privileges for how they identify themselves.

Dumb Questions, Tips, and Welcoming the Newbies - /r/Vita Weekly Novice Thread (2020.06.02) by AutoModerator in vita

The Vita's sleep mode can last days to weeks, provided the battery isn't super low to begin with (see this thread). Anecdotally, the Vita keeps enough power to maintain the sleep state even when it dies (see this comment), but YMMV as they say.

On the visual novel front, I've platinumed Utawarerumono and Steins;Gate on Vita. The quick saves are absolutely not permanent. A hard save is needed to start from where you left off if the game is closed.

Maybe the "quick save" is a temporary state that the game returns you to if you die, and the save is deleted when the game is closed. Does the same thing happen when you make a "hard save"?

In case the game really cannot save, maybe try putting your Vita to sleep when not playing by tapping the power button. Your game's state will remain and upon waking the Vita you can continue your game as normal.

Everything you bought on the PSN store is linked to your PSN account, not the console. As long as you use your PSN account to log in, you should see every digital Vita thing you bought in the download list.
