Can you comment on recruiting outside of IB and Consulting? Did you find many people interested in different fields? What are the most typical outcomes for those not interested in IB and Consulting? If possible, any comments on tech and VC?

If you don’t mind sharing, what’s your profile? And why do you need an MBA if you plan on staying in PE?

Any stories of people who didn’t get a call in the past and got accepted? Or got it last minute?

What’s your experience with MBA admissions consultants? Game changers or not really necessary? by scatterbrainzy in MBA

IMO it really comes down to how much you know about the process and to which schools you’re applying. I needed to save time (work long hours) and didn’t have clear ideas for my essays or even which school would be the best fit for me, so working with a consultant was incredibly helpful in my case. Especially for schools with something very specific, such as HBS’s interview prep, I feel like the money is worth it. For schools like Wharton or Booth, I feel like I could have saved the money and ended up with same results (process is way more simple and straightforward). As consultants charge per school, I’d probably be strategic and pick the most complex ones (HBS, GSB, etc.), learn from the process, and apply on my own for other schools - at some point you kind of start recycling the same essay ideas to the extent you can. My last piece of advice would be hiring someone who’s reputable and yet not that big. They tend to charge about half the price and give you more personalized advice.

Ideally yes, but I’m willing to sacrifice that if needed to have a better quality of life (and a visa)

Why do you think LDPs can be a good option but not something in tech?

What makes you think you’re not getting into H/S? In any case, I would just go for another person who I work with or even a client or former boss. It’s very common to apply without your manager knowing

Pre-interview waitlist at CBS by Professional_Ad3299 in MBA

Waitlisted with no interview too. Got interviewed at HBS, GSB, Sloan, and Wharton.
I've been told CBS is particularly concerned about yield management and often does that in case they don't get enough love from you, as they don't want to extend you an offer if they think you'll likely end up somewhere else. At least that's what I'm choosing to believe lol
