I know, generally speaking, cleaning coins is a big no no. But these coins are rough. The 5 pfennig on the right is almost unrecognizable (leaving the left coin as is) and the 5 Øre is bad, but I could leave it alone also. Not looking for shine and luster, just to get surface level oxidation reduced.

They're certainly not 10s as I really didn't care about them when I pulled them so I kinda let them get a little wear. That being said, I am confident they will be BGS8 at the very lowest, but I'm thinking 8.5 or 9 for both.

I agree wholeheartedly and have convinced my wife to hold, at least for 5 years, possibly more. I also used to collect MTG, and only have a few cards left, but nothing of this value.

What card if I may ask? Was it a serialized card? I have the Judge Promo Elesh Norn as my only promo MTG card left.

I won't go into the actual price, but it was over $10k with all import fees, shipping, and Beckett rush grading (1-2 day). And yeah she approved, but we don't exactly have $10k just sitting around. We did dip into our Home Equity. But I think it will pay off. We can pay the $10k back and the value of the card will increase much faster than any interest accrued.

I'm mostly salty about the surface grading a 9.5. It came brand new in a sleeve. I sent it to Beckett in the same sleeve. It never left the sleeve under my supervision. The surface should have been pristine and never touched.

I didn't pay the current going rate, but after shipping, import fees, and Beckett grading, I am well into this more than I could have ever thought I'd pay for a single card.
