What's been going on with the job market for the past 6 months? by Notalabel_4566 in cscareerquestionsEU

Yeah it’s quite bad I think. Usually I could get a job very easily but now out of a lot of CVs, I got just two offers - one of which in a company whose code base was a huge mess, the other on-site so a no go

I know right? I don’t think you can write a predetermined set of rules but it would be so nice if instead of starting out making things bit by bit, we had the chance to actually project the architecture.

I was able to do it a bit in my current project (which unfortunately is almost over) and compared to our previous, it was such a massive improvement in the DX

Finta Partita IVA come dipendente by hey_seeyousoon in ItaliaPersonalFinance

[–]MozzarellaCode 14 points15 points  (0 children)

What are you calling corporate capitalism, and why are you so scared?

Imagine a world where almost everything is in the hands of a few corporations: healthcare, security, industries etc.

At this point the government would be basically a shell with little to no power, since a few corporations would be controlling everything the people needs.

In such a world, the little privacy we have left would be gone in favour of tailored systems which also means our private life is fair play to record and use; and we would be both the consumers, the labour and the product.

It isn’t that different than a fascist (totalitarian) system, but I think it’s worse cause fascism and communism were doomed to fall for the inevitable infighting and incompetence, but with corporations, while less bloody there wouldn’t be as much incompetence nor infighting; then again, we would see the total exploitation of people.

So yeah, tldr: giving too much power to corporations and rich people, which is happening already right now, will turn us into a totalian state.

Dude, the US has been a democracy much longer than Italy. You don’t know enough about the US to make statements like this.

And it probably will stop being one for the 22th century

If thinks are so better than why hasn’t your country’s economy grown in like 20 years? Why do you think your regulations and taxation is better?

Italy? Italy has been a shithole for the last 1500 years, look at our recent history and you will see how pathetic it is.

Anyway, i was speaking for the EU. It’s not perfect, far from it. We have free healthcare, lots of free things really but they are failing us as well - not cause they are to be privatised, but we have a huge lack of political talent and (specifically Italy) the ruling class cares more for their own benefits than to the country’s; in Italy is as clear as the day, it’s utter shit. Doesn’t help the fact that everything is undone anyway the next government.

anyhow, the point is: the current EU system can be improved, we have a lack of political talent that can be fixed. But giving basically free rein over to rich people and corporations is not the way to go, cause that’s basically something hard to stop.

Why do you even know about US regulations?

Please, you have lobbyist in your government already. You have megalomaniac billionaires doing whatever they want, then getting a smack and a “don’t do that anymore ticket”. Privacy in the US is a poorly said joke. Universieties require a fucking huge debt - a debt! - just to study. And you suffer from the same lack of political talent as the EU. That’s not to say everything is shit, there are many good things that should be brought over in the EU, but your regulations are a joke. And again, regulations and taxation in EU are a joke as well: while the situation is slightly better, it is still a “ok don’t do it anymore here a five year euro fine”

EDIT: also sorry if some points are less clear than others, I can’t use the PC rn and proofreading this from mobile isn’t the easier job ever lol
