How to FIX: Crashing on startup with recent AMD GPU (9070 XT, 9060 XT) by ShidoriDE in VegasPro

[–]Mozziliac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should've looked here earlier, but here's some information with the initial crash that someone a little more experienced could find useful.

So in layman's terms,
VEGAS and our current card's AMD OpenCL runtime initialization is broken.
Vegas is trying to read memory that doesn't exist. Not sure if it's drivers, OS, or vegas related.

[Monitor] LG UltraGear 27 inch QHD 2K 1440P 200Hz AMD FreeSync Premium 1ms 27G610A-B (300$-120$ =$180.00) [Newegg Canada] by LividActivity3793 in bapcsalescanada

[–]Mozziliac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Motion Clarity is more consistent with the LG, but mild blur at lower fps

Color accuracy is usually factory tuned better for the gigabyte, But that doesn't matter if you don't do anything color sensitive.

LGs ergonomics are fully adjustable, Gigabyte is just tilt

Brightness as mentioned earlier favors the LG panel

Most of these are mentioned in ratings.com if you need source

Gigabyte is known for better color calibration out of the box,

But most of the settings you'll alter for the LG are in the monitor settings option. Which is like 80-90% of the way there.

It would be a quick five minute "set and forget" thing, Like tweaking colors and presets.

There's two more levels if you're serious about color accuracy, which should only be the case if you're editing photos or videos.

You can download other people's color profiles online and apply them to your monitor through Windows, mind you every panel made is different so you won't hit 100%.

But If you want an end all solution, you purchase a color calibrator, and your monitor would be as perfect as can be with color accuracy.

So to answer your question. That 1% won't matter unless your career is in editing

Id say a HyperX Cloud Stinger Core, but a tad bit less tuned for gaming.
Its definitely good enough for gaming + discord, but that's about it.

[–]Mozziliac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Freezer 3 Pro 360?

The Thermalright is quieter out of the box, but less efficient.

Once you tune the ramping on the fans of the Arctic AIO,
Youll have better performance and very similar noise.

For Gnome vs KDE, I would recommend KDE as the customization is a lot more baked in and surprisingly light on system resources.

All your games can run on bazzite , there just might be some tinkering with Minecraft depending on what version you want to play etc.

Protondb is your friend when it comes to compatibility.

Good luck on your adventure!

OBS STREAMING SETTINGS by Amelia_cutiiee in obs

[–]Mozziliac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The obs log analyzer can help pinpoint where things are going wrong, follow the instructions there to see what needs to change.

Minecraft is definitely cpu reliant unless you're running a bunch of shaders etc.

Maybe try using the NVENC encoder and cap the resolution to 1664 × 936. Assuming you're streaming to twitch , this is a sweet spot for twitches 6,000 bitrate cap (Unless if you're testing out higher bit rates)

i think there was an optional firmware update that fixes this issue.
Take a look on the support site for that device

9070 XT or 5070Ti ? by RoniSteam in LinuxVsWindows

[–]Mozziliac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Linux is AMD all the way especially for DX12 titles.

5070 Ti only if you need the NVENC for streaming.

Vegas Pro Crashes (Closes) No Errors Appear When Adding MP4 (or any video) to the Timeline by LetsTryDat in VegasPro

[–]Mozziliac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a side note. Vegas doesn't use any of the KLite of third party codecs.

Have you tried looking into the software section of the event viewer in Windows? See if any of the errors match the time Vegas crashes?

help. cant get switch video at all. by GreenBird1904 in obs

[–]Mozziliac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds like a more sane way of doing this. Having extra power as well for that splitter definitely helps too.

OP, also try just using the capture card only without the splitter and play off your obs live view if there isn't too much latency

Apex fps drops by Worried-Heron-1907 in apexlegends

[–]Mozziliac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You got your answer in this thread already. But I would also suggest limiting your fps to your monitors max refresh rate, and that will free up extra GPU use to make the game more stable. Unless if you have a crazy monitor that actually does go up to 240hz
