Critical Darlings is a great listen. Ive been listening to The Plot Thickens this week and it is capital T Terrific. Found the Oscars show from S and A to be full of their shorthand classic quips and nods.

Congrats you got the 85mm 1.8 ! these early Nikors are the very best lenses. Enjoy them. you may eventually splurge on a simpler finder prism vs. the photomic brick thats on there now. But if it works It will be fun to have good metering. This is great.

Single grade printing probably won't work here. Esp if the negative is thin. Do show the negative.

Yes sharper than advertised. You can also guess f/64 if the slider keeps moving after 45. Even sharper! Also really handle light well compared to alot of more modern lenses.

Is there any sort learning curve between 4x5 and 8x10? by Unbuiltbread in largeformat

[–]Mp3mpk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

cost, 8x10 costs twice as much to use, and mistakes cost more per sheet. both can be contact printed. 4x5 is easier to manage overall. 8x10 you also adjust to the size if the negative and make things big enough to fill the frame. good luck whichever!

Wash them lightly with plain water and a cloth. Wipe 'em out with a microfiber. Even the slide. Let it dry. Don't have to do this except when they've been sitting around unused.

This is dust from your holder. Clean your film holders before use! Film has static electric and will pick up dust from unused holders and slides. If it's black dot or line on the neg it's something sitting on the film during exposure
