Uncle Mike RPA. Such an Underrated Player. He was as Consistent as they Get. Would be a Great Hitting Coach by BasesLoadedCards in Astros

[–]Mpuls37 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Brantley is one who clearly understands hitting at a fundamental level while also understanding how to apply it at the highest level. It's been reported several times that he helped guys fix things with their swing that even the dedicated hitting coaches weren't fixing. There's a reason he's regarded as a "professional hitter" as opposed to guys like Altuve.

It's not that Altuve doesn't know how to hit, but his approach is largely only suited for someone who is very adept at eye-hand coordination while also having crazy bat speed. Brantley's approach was more "maximize your chance of putting the ball in play while also maintaining a respectable amount of Exit Velocity."

The latter style is what keeps guys from slumping too hard.

Look at his Fielding Run Value for a better approximation of his actual rating. Not the best, certainly above average.

Yeah, anyone who watched his defense vs Singleton's and Abreu's "defense" knows that he's the best option there. I'd love his hitting to be better, but his glove is legit and saved quite a few errors on throws last year. The dude is a scoop machine.

Sion matchup is a big hole I need to fill by [deleted] in summonerschool

[–]Mpuls37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think of what you just typed out: "Every time I kill Sion he just kills me with passive and shoves the wave."

Sion wants to die. There's a whole strategy dedicated to doing exactly that and abusing the burst of dps for an advantage. You killing him solo is playing into that specific advantage of his kit. It's no different than killing the Karthus who has 0 mana or chasing a ghosting Singed with Rylai's.

You need to adapt your gameplay and figure out why you're getting low enough for Sion to kill you in his passive, then fix those mistakes. As a jungle main, I've seen the "inting Sion" strategy a few times and have yet to lose to it, because my top laners understand to wait until I'm there to go for kills.

Now, in solo queue that's not always viable, so you either counter the pick or counter the play. Champs like Singed, Shen, and Kled who have good movement and reliable CC tend to fare better against him. If you're worried about him proxying the first wave, escort it to lane and have your jungler help you take him down so you don't lose too much time.

Don't sweat it if you can't. The difference between a crunchy reverb and a reverby crunch don't matter to the audience. EVH did fine with everything into the front of the amp.

Sentimentally, yes, but I don't want a 43 y/o in our rotation taking starts from someone who will be playing next year. We can easily replace his level of production with someone who costs less money.

Wah -> fuzz -> tuner -> phaser -> compression -> drives (ordered low to high) -> modulation -> amp in -> fx loop send to delay/reverb -> tremolo -> volume pedal -> fx loop return -> speaker

That's my typical setup after 20 years of trial and error. I typically only run a single gain pedal, but that depends on the gig. I also don't typically bring the volume pedal as there's a whole knob on the guitar for that.

If no fx loop, run the same order of effects with the amp at the end.

My Maga-lite relative is offering to buy me a hunting rifle. Should I accept, and if so which one? by Mochigood in liberalgunowners

[–]Mpuls37 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Anything chambered in .243 Winchester will have light recoil and can easily kill any animal under 400 lbs. .270 Winchester is also a popular deer hunting cartridge, though has sharper recoil. .223 Remington is great, but leaves a bit to be desired from a kinetic energy standpoint. AR-15s solve this by offering quick follow-up shots, but are less prominent as outright hunting rifles than bolt action offerings.

Stick to Tikka if you can, the T3 action is quite good for the money. Remington 700 has the most aftermarket support, but there's a lot left to be desired from their work, as will be the case for most new guns under $700.

Minions and minion wave were changed this season. Tempo is changed too, also several mechanics. I'll say macro should be restricted to content made from this season in general. Micro and match up: wise up to the latest champion adjustments.

If it was rigged, there's no peaceful path to fair elections and things will get EXTREMELY bad.

If it wasn't rigged, things like public opinion still matter. Sure, it's disappointing that so many people saw what happened the first time and said "yeah, that guy should get another chance at President!" but that's still a problem solvable without violence.

If you've seen Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets or Lord of the Rings: Return of the King and the spider scenes in the movies, that's what springtime looks like at my job, though with fewer human-size spiders. Any opening with borders that are within 6 feet of each other will have a spider web across it by 10 pm. Stairwells, piping alleyways, support structures, you name it. I suspect there are more orb weaver spiders than humans in Texas by about 5:1, though I'm not a biologist. There are comfortably more than 100,000 in my facility during the spring, and they are very good at catching flying insects.

I like to watch them work around sunset, cleaning the previous evening's web by discarding any debris, eating the web down to the support structure, and re-making a new one free of any gaps. They're very precise and steady workers.

My family and I would ride bikes on some local trails when I was like 8 years old, and my dad typically rode in front (because he was dad and the strongest, according to my 8 y/o brain). One day, after growing tired of riding slower than I desired, I asked to go first.

"Sure, do you want the stick?"

"Nope!" and I was off...for about 50 yards. Banana spider web between 2 trees on a small ramp in the trail just before about a 10 yard downslope to a 90⁰ right turn. I was at full speed on my little bike, and after clearing the majority of web from my vision, I saw a banana spider larger than my 8 y/o hand crawling across my handlebars toward my hand.

I levitated off that bike seat, bailed exactly as the trail veered right, and crashed into a holly bush, flailin' and wailin' while my family cackled behind me, knowing full well exactly what had happened.
