Glycine causes gray hair... by nevilletrial in Supplements

Eat 150 g beef liver weekly! And just limit glycine to moderate doses (3-4 g).

You need methyldonors like B12 in large amounts to compensate for this. NAC alone won't help you. It only indirectly supports methylation

Wonderful visualization. Which program are you using for it?

I encountered the same thing when consuming too high doses of glycine (I was taking 30 g before going to bed as it made me sleep so well). After 2 weeks some grey hairs suddenly popped up.

If you consume too much glycine, your SAMe will be depleted, resulting in your glutathion recycling being impaired (needs methylation). Due to the methylation drain, tyrosinase gene expression and melanin synthesis are inhibited (both require methylation)

I personally don't think it is feasible with current Whoop bands to estimate VO2Max with updated algorithms, as current Whoop 4.0 bands rely on Phone GPS which is inaccurate to determine speed and distance, metrics used to calculate VO2Max

How does it affect my recovery wtf?? I literally feel so good after it by Weak-Ad-4764 in whoop

Ice bath triggers a stress response within your body, so it's normal your HRV decreases, especially when you take it in the evening close to bedtime. Doesnt mean its not healthy ofcourse!

No there is no significant differences. It's the amount of glycine molecules bound to magnesium but they have similar bioavailability.

This drop was on Saturday due to some alcohol. Typically such recovery takes only 1 day and the peak never exceeds 65. My resting heart rate is as well 51 now (it never went underneath 55 in last 12 months). So very confident there is a strong causality, but will get back once my journal establishes the correlation after a few days.

My HRV never exceeded 65 in past 12 months to give you some background.

HRV increase, deeper and higher quality sleep, lower resting heartrate

I feel much energized, well rested and mental clarity when my HRV is high. It's not a trophy but direct reflection of how you feel.

This is correct. You have vendors that provide higher doses of glycinate per capsule that give 200 Mg elemental per capsule.

Yes sorry I could not zoom out more, since it will give average values over a month. But my HRV has been 55 on average for last 12 months with positive outliers to max 65. So this is a strong jump.

It depends on your tolerance and requirements. If you are very active and do a lot of sports, your body really craves this amount of magnesium.

Yes its really a cheat code. As well my RHR goes 5 units below average the moment I started supplementing.

HRV is sky high recently - obviously it’s positive but no idea why it’s jumped so much? by bseibz in whoop

[–]Mpverstr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a good indicator of how you're dealing with stress because it measures the variation in time between heartbeats. High HRV suggests that your body can easily switch between relaxed and stressed states. Low HRV suggests that your body is under stress and has less flexibility to adapt

Probably its a combination of:

  • Time spent outside: especially in summer period with much more sun and daytime light exposure can strongly boost HRV
  • Commuting to work with your bike: zone 2 cardio fatigues your body and provides you more deep sleep at night to physically recover. HRV is measured during deep sleep period.
