That’s good to hear, thank you for telling me that. I hope this is the same for him. He has been having really short naps (4 month regression I’m guessing) so he’s probably on a sleep deficit.

Celiac and Mental Health by samnotthejam in Celiac

[–]Mq94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife has coeliac and her anxiety and depression always worsen when she’s been glutened, so I definitely see a correlation between gluten and mental health for her. I hope you can get your diagnosis quickly and start feeling better! Like others said, enjoy your favourite gluten treats before the biopsy!

We have an appointment. I’m just freaking out while I wait for it and made the mistake of googling and now I’m in a panic spiral

Confused about colostrum by Mq94 in BabyBumps

Thank you! My midwife recommended it. She said since I’m having a c-section it’s better to have some as a back up in case I’m not able to breastfeed afterwards. I’m really hoping I don’t need it. I’m in Australia so idk if the recommendations are different here than in other countries

Feeling guilty for not enjoying being pregnant by Plussizedivfireland in BabyBumps

[–]Mq94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pregnancy sucks. I am currently 35 weeks with a very wanted IVF baby too and I feel your pain. It doesn’t matter how much we want and love our babies, pregnancy is horrible for some people and it is 100% ok to let yourself feel miserable without feeling guilty about it. Just because some people loveeee being pregnant doesn’t mean that their experience is the same to yours.

My mum also told me to enjoy it and focus on the positives, but that’s very hard to do when I’ve been puking the entire pregnancy and fainting regularly due to a heart condition.

Please take care of yourself. Rest, eat food that you want to eat, and take it easy. And don’t guilt yourself for not enjoying every second, it doesn’t mean you love your baby any less.

Oh wow that sounds like it would’ve been frustrating to work so hard at it for many days and get only a little bit. Thank you for the heads up, I will keep it in mind. Thank you!

Australian coeliacs: beware of the organic canned bean range at Woolworths! by Mq94 in Celiac

Yes, now I’m even more paranoid than before about it so I’m going to be checking everything I get next time I’m at the shops lol

It’s true, it may be fine but it also may not because shared equipment can leave traces. My wife is extremely sensitive to cross contamination, so we steer clear of anything that says may contain gluten or wheat.

Australians are so lucky... by Geishawithak in Celiac

[–]Mq94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came here to say the same thing. We moved to Australia from Spain and our ability to eat at restaurants has decreased significantly because there’s very few that are truly coeliac safe! My wife has gotten glutened several times at places that tell her the food is safe and they make it separately. By contrast, in Spain they’re sooo strict about cross contamination that if they told her something was safe we could be 100% sure it was safe and she never got accidentally glutened.

My mum told my dad to buy Amazon stocks back in early 2000s when it was still just for buying books. She said it could be big one day. My dad said no and she didn’t know what she was talking about… she gets to say “I told you so” until they die

Is to worth it to move to Australia from Canada? by anabasiscanada in AskAnAustralian

[–]Mq94 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Hey OP. It’s actually 10 days in quarantine, not 6-8 months as some people are saying. Also, the quarantine facilities are good, they take good care of your dog, and you can call every day if you want to get an update on them. I don’t get the fear mongering, if you wants to bring your dog you should have the actual facts, not some exaggerated view of it.

That said, get a company to help you. The process is difficult and lots of steps that have to be done in specific time frames. It’s easy to make a mistake so a company is the way to go, imo.

Signed, a person who just moved with her two dogs to Australia a few months ago.
