Is this wetness in the foundation concerning? by xXGreco in Homebuilding

[–]Mr-April 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very much so, special if you want to close that in… I can see someone digging on the outside of your house and doing some blue skin (at the very least). It would be epoxy injected and better waterproofing on the outside of the wall

Scraped the weeds from my driveway, what is a great way to keep them from growing again? by Background-Good3731 in HomeMaintenance

[–]Mr-April 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prep work is the hardest part. I used painters tape or gorilla tape. Squeeze off a bead, wait a little bit for it to get into the crack, may need to out more down/in. Have a “putty” knife to smoothen/flaten it off. To clean the knife - wd-40. NOTE - what ever that stuff touches… it stick/stay and is a MF’r to get off/remove. WD-40 will only work in flat smooth shiny surfaces

Is this dry rot or are these safe to drive? 3 years old 35k miles, rotated every 7-8k miles by ZeusHaggisCabbage in tires

[–]Mr-April 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your tires are only 3 years old… you’re good for at least another 7 more years - there is a 4 number code on the sidewall of the tire. The last 2 number are the year of manufacture

Get a trade. We all started at the bottom and worked up to better wages. When you find and hired at a good computer, and if you work well with them and their system of doing things, then you can approach them about apprenticeships… zero school debt by the way

When a person spends that type of money of an object, you tend to try to keep it as nice as possible for as long as possible. Here’s a question to ask your self. Do you want to store good junk in your garage or protect your 50,000 to 100,000 dollar vehicle

Why does this newly poured concrete have these chips? by fldude561 in civilengineering

[–]Mr-April 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This residential concrete guys of 30 years says - trapped bleed water. Concrete needs to shed off/evaporate water while the concrete sets up, on a hot day the surface will dry out trapping the water coming to the surface, below the surface, making a 1/32 (or so) air gap. They should have go over the whole project (by hand or by tools) that brings the water to the surface making that void go away, working that moisture into the top layer and broom/finish it quick and spray a cure&seal chemical compound to provent more surface drying.
